Thanks so much for this! Since watching Itchy Boots ride a Zero in a nature reserve in NL I've been fascinated by the idea of doing BDR style riding on an electric moto. I've got a Himalayan, XT225, and e-bikes - so a moto like this with 150+mi range would totally click for me. For some reason, EV's are a total trigger for internet vitriol, so it's nice to see that there are folks like you that dig the idea of quiet backcountry cruising. I LOVE me some BRAAP (always will), but this sort of riding looks amazing.
Thanks for giving a view into the future !
Interesting...and enlightening. Thanks for posting.
I do a lot of off road, and long stretches to get there. I can’t wait for the charging infrastructure to be there. Hopefully it’s within my lifetime! Nice to see this channel still going after the trip!
so cool. I've been so curious about these bikes, saw a video of someone else bopping around the city on it. The future indeed!
My fiancé’s cousin works for Zero, and he’s invited me to come down to HQ to ride one, just haven’t had the time. This video is just more motivation, thanks Ang!
Ang, what a great review. I’ve not had a lot of interest in an electric bike, but the majority of reviews that I’ve noticed seem to focus on specs and max performance, but not showing just an average guy riding one.😀👍
Looking forward to hearing from future Ang on this!
I owned a 2020 Zero FXS, 7.2, the Super Moto version of the FX. It was a brilliant bike, great power, suspension, brakes. The fail is that range anxiety is a real thing. The faster and harder you ride the lower the range you get. If you just want to ride around town or very near by, great. I had to go back to ICE powered bikes. We need a real break through in energy storage for EV motorcycles to be viable for more than just in town commuting.
Wow, now that’s cool 😎🤗👍👍
Super video, really enjoyed it watching it...what an incredible place if i lived there i would be out every single day..i have just bought a second hand zero fxs 2021 supermoto street tyres...its only £68 a month on finance and i got it for 3 years and then it goes back...perfect for me as i am only learning...love it so far
Thanks, Ang, for talking about the unmentionable among most motorcyclists. It just seems offensive to me to ride on trails/in nature with loud pipes. The quieter the better! I appreciate learning about this place and will definitely check it out. I just hope I’m not too short for their bikes I appreciate the info!
Allot of times my friends and I trailer our dual sports to trails, I could see getting one of these and just hitting the. Pine barrens in New Jersey, mild fire roads and fire cuts, would be cool if they had a drop in battery.
No noise, no smoke, no vibration, no shifting, no gears, no oil to change. All this, for a fraction of the cost to run on gas, and you charge in the comfort of your home, no need to go to the gas station. For the daily commute it's fine, and for longer distances you need fast charging (to use the charging stations). Keep in mind, the charging infra is almost good and is to become very okay soon, as the government announced $5B to grow the charging infrastructure.
I had the same reaction when I got to test ride a bunch of zero bikes. Although we didn't have a dirt road to ride on, it was still nice. Thanks for the video and your thoughts on the bike. same as mine. I really want one too, just price is throwing me off.
Very cool video. When you say 100 miles, did you don that on a single charge ? Or did you have to stop and charge the bike for several hours ?
The cost and the range will limit the number of people who will buy.
I want one but 50 miles is simply not enough, I ride my DIY ebikes ALL the time and know exactly what you mean about being bumed out getting into a car , it's like being in a cage stuck on crappy busy boring roads after the freedome of being on a silent bike able to go almost anywhere.
😻 loud pipes save lives but batteries save ears…which are necessary safety gear when available.
