100 Mile Bull - Top Priority Hunting

Спорт

A 100 miles of ups and downs, highs and lows. Each September we hunt the elk of Idaho. In this film we travel over a 100 miles before harvesting an elk. Our film 100 Mile Bull was chosen as an extra to play at the Boise Egyptian Theater, during the Full Draw Film Tour. Thanks to all of our sponsors and the Full Draw Film Tour...

Very good video and hunt...well done! Looked like a tough angle on the shot but at 15 yards able to make a good shot. I carry a trash bag in my pack...you can put your quarter/meat in it before putting it in your pack....will keep your pack from getting all bloody.

Did you just miss the broad side shot or was that the only opening you had? Just curious since there's no shot description like normal.

No a frontal shot was all that I was given. It’s a lethal shot when given the opportunity.

+tyler robertson Dude I was wondering the same thing. I need an explanation on the shot process before the release. They recovered the elk so it was an effective shot.

tyler robertson looked like a quartering toward at the front shoulder. heart shot and very effective.

That looked like terrible shot placement, but the bull died. Better lucky than good.

  • @dablaugntximntxub2318

i know this is so late, but that was an lethal shot placement..it's a quartering away from the neck to the right lung and the vitals is hit... that shot placement was not a lucky shot, but well placed...a broad side is just as deadly as this shot was executed..the only thing i would do, different in this situation is i would use a wider broad head cutting diameter only...if you slow it down you'll see the arrow is clearly pass through the other side of the bull... with that shot that bull probably ran no more than 50 yards from where he was shot.

Slow it down to 0.25 and you will most definately see that it was a bad shot. Almost all neck with very little of the chest in the mix.

  • @themtnexperience

millenium2003 depending on where the animal has been shot kind of dictates how long we wait. An hr is about average. But most of the time the animal expires real quick. You have to be careful, once you bump an animal there adrenaline kicks in and they can go for miles.

You might consider not using background music. Its too repetitive and I would much rather be able to hear your whispering, the foot steps and natural sounds that come with what you do. I dont get the overdubbing and static volume of the background music stepping all over your conversations. Its annoying Other than that its a great video.

Quality hunt, hunters, and video production,,,,You know, elk hunting is sufficiently exciting and dramatic itself, doesn't need to be drowned in a overbearing musical score. Just my two cents.

An attempt at a quartering towards you frontal shot? I think you owe your game a better shot then that. the camera man had a much better angle. Still a good video though.
