You have to get to the end of Armadillo's stage five times total to get the Hadoken (although you need to have 100% of everything ELSE at the last one), and the fastest way is to die at the very end to avoid having to play through ALL of it again. The Hadoken is so OP, it compensates the time lost due to it OH-killing pretty much everything else in the game - not to mention it would be necessary for a true 100% run.

05:59 And just when I thought you just can't make that elevator part any better. That was just awesome, man. Just freaking awesome.

Then there's the good low% runners who beat This game in 31:xx and get no upradges nor hearts or tanks.

Awesome. It's nice to see that a lot of people still find it enjoyable to speedrun a game based on skill and memory alone instead of using a TAS program. I like watching Ninendocaprisun do speedrun/races with people.

Very nice TAS.

I call bullshit on Boomer Kuwanger's heart tank. I tried that at least 120,000 times as a kid.

I always used to replay the stage and use the boomer to get it. But then I found out you are supposed to charge the ice shot and get it that way. But then there is this way. Super hard to do, but CalebHart42 pulls it off all the time so it is possible.

the wall jumping runs, like 6:24 to 6:28, are always so satisfying to watch.

It's the last upgrade he get. Its easter egg upgrade = Hadouken from street fighter (Ryu's special ability) It 1 shots everything.

Doritos Man In the Megaman Maverick Hunter X (Remake of this game with better graphics) You had to see the capsule that gives Hadouken 5 times with full health i think. It's in armored armadillo stage upside of the boss door. theres a empty area after 5th look die again and it appears a capsule: Dr.Light (In ryu from street fighter costume) tells some pretty ridicolous stuff like (Your body is machine but your spirit is human ^_^ learn how to shoot fireballs! ''Not like Mario X! like Ryu....'') And then you go in and get upgraded your hands get upgraded and you can now do hadouken! :D good luck and have fun! ^3^

greyprepper Please do yourself a favor, and read up what a TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) really is. It will save you some dumb comments later.

TAS is tool assisted speedrun, it helps the player. The game it played at a slow speed, so they can make precise movements

This is a 100% Tool Assisted Superplay. The deaths is one of the requirements of a secret powerup (the Kamehameha thing). Fall in THAT pit 5 times, then climb the wall that has the door (you also need everything, including FULL subtanks). As for the final Sigma, you gotta ride those claws, then aim a little above the head. It's easier seen than said.

Perfectly timed shots, practically turbo. Something that is very easy to do in a Tool Assisted Speedrun.

I think this TAS program is something that can increase the FPS rate of an individial object in the game. So that why he can shoot fast enough for 3 bullet to hit almost at the same time. It also increase the FPS rate of the invisible sprite so that why we don't see them blinking and he can hit the enimies multiple times rapidly

In order to get the hidden powerup Hadouken, you have to visit (Make it spawn in the game) the area where the capsule appears a couple of times. Though it isn't neccesary to die (You can just complete the level a couple of times) it is the fastest method of getting it.

Well, I guess you are sort of right. One of the conditions is that you have to visit the capsule area 4 times in total and at your last visit you need all sub tanks, hearts and armor upgrades as well as full energy, or else the capsule won't appear. So while it isn't actually neccesary to die (Though this is the fastest method) you still have to replay the level several times.

My most favorite mega man game. I just loved it when growing up.

The point of a TAS is just to see how fast a game can be beaten with perfection, among other things done for entertainment purposes. It's not like the TASer is bragging about being good at the game or anything, that's not the idea. @firenutz698 Which you can do if you take damage before. Because of KZread's framerate you can't see that Mega Man is blinking after he gets hit, but he is invincible for a short while. Nothing fake with this TAS.

40:26 just happened to be the time of the video encode for youtube, it has nothing to do with the time it took to beat the game. The timing used for Tool Assisted Speedruns start when you power on the game until the last input press needed to beat it. Which is 33:58.87 or 122332 frames, and nothing else =).

***** I guees you mean the "hadouken" which kills bosses with one hit. You can get it in the armored armadillo level when you have collected all 4 armor upgrades, all 8 heart tanks and all 4 sub tanks.

+GroovyVideoGames He's dashing and shooting at the same time. There's a thing in X1 and X2 where you deal double damage by shooting while dashing. The Hadouken is something else you get entirely.

It does count towards 100% and it was also taken in this TAS 24:22.

An easter egg the guys at Capcom snuck in. In Megaman X2, you can get the shoryuken! And it is also a boss-killer.

@SchultzDavidn this was a tool-assisted run, but this game's really not that hard. the Zero series is a totally different monster, though. it takes a lot more memorization and skill to play that on hard mode than any X game, for me anyway

You're right, there is no way to beat it in that amount of time, however the purpose of speedruns is solely for entertainment, so having a fast time is ideal while also having very little to no error. To ensure no errors can me made, tools have become available to enable the fastest time possible using those tools. I'm sure you could do the same thing in an hour, an I respect that. However, since this is for entertainment purposes, people want a faster, smoother run.

He didn't miss it, just waited to grab it. And the reason he died was to get the Hadouken powerup, which requires you to reach the end of the level multiple times until the capsule spawns.

In order to get the Hadouken upgrade, you have to visit the end of the level a set amount of times. And the fastest way to revisit it is to keep dying until it appear.

Once half destroyed the cars travel at the same speed as megaman's running speed, or if you mean why hurt himself using the car's momentum, it is because the cutscene with Vile happens only when Megaman is low on health.
