I had this album set back in the early 70s, while it may not always have the title and nationality correct, it was fun to listen to while working. I think my records finally wore out! Thanks for posting!.
You did a nice job getting the analog recording, which must be very old, digitized and uploaded. Good work and never let anyone tell you differently.

indeed, some of the tracks sound like they were recorded in the 1950s. Doesn't detract from the fun though.

Thanks a lot for posting this. It is only a pity that the recording is so old that it doesn't capture one of the best Spanish military marches, Ganando Barlovento, my Ramón Sáez de Adana Lauzurica.

Thank You for posting. Under the Double Eagle (German: Unter dem Doppeladler it was not written by John Philip Sousa, it was Wagner. The double Eagle is the dead give away as the double eagle is on the flag of the KaiserEmperor of Austria.

"Under the Double Eagle" (German: Unter dem Doppeladler ), Op. 159, is an 1893 march composed by J.F. Wagner, an Austrian military music composer. The title is a reference to the double eagle in the coat of arms of Austria-Hungary. NOT Richard Wagner, composer of Ride of the Valkyries and Tannhauser among others.

Marsch aus Petersburg is actually Finnish march composed By Erik Eriksson and he was awarded with golden pocket watch from Tsar. We call it Suomi-Marssi or Erikssons mars.

"Old Comrades" is a german military march. It was composed in 1889 by Carl Teike (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Teike)

Well, the Russian marches are all Russian :-D. I've never heard the "March of the Cavalry of the Steppes" -it's Polyushko-Pole- in a military parade, but here sounds really amazing.

In fairness to the poster of this music...this record was a bit of a slap up affair and a lot of the sleeve notes were incorrect , the poster has followed what was written on the cover. I Have it and there are plenty of errors .

@@JamesSmith-ui2hv Because it is circus music, the American marches aren't military marches. They're either 'screamers' (circus marches) or peacetime marches written for civic events.

Big selection even if the national identity is mixed up - under USA marches, for instance, "Under The Double Eagle" by Wagner, as its name suggests, is an Austro-Hungarian march. Similarly, "Entry of the Gladiators", an old chestnut, is by Fucik.
It is "Inno di Mameli e Novaro" and the Real name is "Canto degli Italiani"... but cool video! Very well made!
Every track would work as a cartoon soundtrack.

The "British" Army you say? Who cares what army- from what country? YOU do, right? I love to hear of peoples' national armies and their pride in them. And so, other folks are proud of their nation's music. Me too- no acrimony, just good info. Would you not correct someone saying your name wrong, or what nation's army you were in? Most folks would. Nothing wrong with pride, as long as you are not dissing others. So enjoy, including corrections. If you are reading commentaries, that's what you will get, of course.
