That gun is the most legit apocalypse weapon I’ve ever seen.

infrared (that's how you spell it) is basically just heat but in light form and also red bud redder. Aside from that, what if somebody made a much better version of this (battery in/on backpack thing, stronger laser, and generally higher quality stuff) such that they can snipe stuff from at least 100m away (328 feet) and set, for example, an enemy soldier in a war, on fire, then immediately turn someone into plasma from a distance without handling a rocket launcher or heavy equipment. I just want an invisible fire laser handgun attached to a backpack, that's all. *demonic laughter and arson intensifies* it would really cool to vaporize targets from a distance without nukes, or rockets, or any explosive weaponry. Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild guardian lasers are what I'm looking for.

Awesome to see you here! I don't recommend others try it but internal burns from this laser are unlikely as tissue and bone have very low absorption at these wavelengths. I've stuck my hand in the beam of a shortwave IR laser that was literally 500 times stronger than the one shown at 4:11 and I had no noticeable effects.

I know this is an older video, but I'd like to make a suggestion nonetheless: If you filmed with color at roughly the same angle, you could do a blend mode overlay that would allow you to see the IR light in color.

The applications for looking through flesh to the bones and veins is unlimited, you could use that with a set of goggles to see the wave length to look through injuries for soldiers in the field. Like an instant xray.

He is very intelligent, but most electrical sciences like lasers are just about putting the right things together. Having a hobbyist community actually makes projects like this really easy to get into and start building your own death rays within a couple years.
