the jug video where the teacher lights it on fire is actually a pretty cool experiment, it didnt go as planned but the fire is supposed to move on the inside of the jug, and form a ring as it moves down the jug. hard to explain but it looks neat when done properly

Actually not Hydrogen. That's an Ethanol experiment where you coat the inside of the jug with Ethanol, and use a match to light the fumes to demonstrate combustion reactions. My teacher used to call it the 'Woosh bottle'!

@@occupation1235 You pour in a few tablespoons of *liquid ethanol* and rotate the jug around so you coat the inside. Ethanol, like any alcohol is very viscous, meaning it evaporates quickly, so holding a match to the mouth of the jug is enough to light all the fumes inside.

Number 2 happened to my SIL’s sister when she had dropped into the water. The rope wrapped around her neck, she couldn’t breathe. Her fiancée and friends were still driving the boat forward unknowingly dragging her along and having a laugh until they noticed she was turning blue. She had to take leave from work for a month after that, it really traumatised her, she had this massive bruise around her neck.

For the jug experiment it is usually safe. You can do it with a small water bottle, fill it up with alcohol (or something which combusts and burns quickly) spring the bottle to make a thin layer and light it up. The flame should travel down the bottle with an eerie sound. The jug is too big, so it combusted and a vacuum formed in the bottle, rupturing it into small, sharp pieces. The fireball formed because the liquid got on fire before the jug exploding, which allowed the liquid to travel in all directions at the same speed while burning, making a burning sphere Edit: pour in only a little bit to cover the sides of the bottle, you can even pour out the liquid on the bottom

For number 6, my chemistry teacher used to do this all the time. You put a little flammable liquid (I think its ethanol) in a big jug and spin the jug so it coats the inside. Then, drop a match into it. The fumes ignite and the result is a purple flame that shoots about five feet out for a fraction of a second and makes a loud "WHOOSH" sound. This is usually an easy experiment to do safely, we even did it with normal matches and just pulled our hand back. We never had to be more than a couple feet away. We however always had it sitting on the ground as to give the flame plenty of room between the jug and the flammable cork ceiling. The flame was so brief that it never burned anyone even when we were careless enough for it to hit our hands. My guess is that this was this teachers first time doing it and he used way too much liquid. The only thing that ever happened to us was the jug might move itself and inch or two in one direction. As for number 1 I couldn't tell because of the vague details but judging by the video I'm decently certain that was the railroad bridge in Pope Lick Kentucky. I'm not sure how long it is but at its center it's about 90 feet above ground. Below is mostly rock and dirt with a small one lane road and a shallow creek that both go under it. Supposedly its haunted by a cryptid called the Pope Lick Monster. Theres different versions of the legend but this is the one I'm told the most. The legend is that long ago a satan worshipping hermit set up a cabin in the area. He would sacrifice goats to satan. When he died he was reincarnated by satan as a satyr (half man half goat) supposedly he still lurks in the woods. He waits for curious explorers to find the bridge and simulates the sound of a crying child. When the explorers go out into the middle of the bridge to help they turn to see a train coming. When they turn to run the other way they see the goat man standing there with the very hatchet he used to sacrifice his livestock. Leaving you with the option of turning to face the train, turning to face the goat man, or jumping to the rocky creek bed. I love in Taylosville KY which is only about ten minutes down the road from the bridge. Me and my friends have explored it many times at various times of night and weve also gone as far as to walk all the way accross the bridge and back. It's pretty narrow and sketchy and doing it without a light would be terrifying even without the legend. And you do have to hop a fence and walk up a hill to reach it just like the kids in the video. Weve heard many terrifying and weird noises out there at night, some sounding like they were coming from only a few feet into the trees. We even debated on taking a ouija board and using it on the bridge. We have yet to do it though. The line is still used so there has been a few times where we heard a train horn from the bridge and had to leave. But the trains have to cross another bridge a few miles away before they get to it and we always hear the horn from there. No matter how far out I was I never had issues getting off the bridge with plenty of time to spare. But without a light I couldn't say I'd be so lucky. The closest I ever came I was with only my fiance who didnt go very far onto the bridge. I was well off the bridge and to safety about fifteen seconds before I saw the train's light in the distance. We even had time to get back up towards the tracks and sit next to the beginning of the bridges elevation between two I-beams while the train rushed less than a foot above our heads blaring the horn. It wasnt the safest thing to do but we loved the adrenaline rush and we both thought it was awsome. Now if that's not the pope lick bridge then that legend is irrelevant. I'm just guessing based off the clip and info you gave. Hopefully I've shed some light and answered a few peoples questions.

3:50 Although the liquid is unknown I had conducted this experiment once in my science class. It is supposed to open up the sound barrier and create a loud noise. But this is based on my experience

4:19 the fire was supposed to go in the bottle and you can use it to go camping to cook easier

not just seizures, those kinds of flashing lights (especially without warning😡 ) can also trigger migraines

It was likely rubbing alcohol in the jug a very small amount, you see in the beginning of the video the student spinning the jug at 3:55 its to put alcohol all over the inside surface of the bottle which makes it evaporate into a flammable gas quicker. This is an experiment to show rocket propulsion or something like that, My teacher did this experiment when i was in high school but it went correctly it looks really cool when it goes right, whats supposed to happen is you see a flame rush out the top and the gas becomes visible as its being set on fire and looks really neat like its draining out of the jug. My teacher stressed that we didn't use too much alcohol while our group was setting it up for the class i guess this is why. Still i remember this being one of my favorite experiments we ever did in that class.
