Maybe yes, maybe no. I saw a certain level of musicality and intuitive interpretation that I'm not sure would jibe with the "no love for classical music" you assume about her. What I was hearing was not something even the most demanding parents could drum into her by rote. Of course, it is true that one's enthusiasms do change with age. (Remember a couple of decades ago, when the 12-year-old Charlotte Church was supposedly on the way to becoming the next great operatic soprano?) But that isn’t the same as saying the enthusiasm was never there in the first place.

So i watched this ice skiing video, and the coach said "children have no fear, that's why they learn faster and just go for it, cause they don't know how it feels to fall". And I think it's true here too. As you grow up, you get more fearful and give up more quickly cause you fear the fall. She doesn't fear nothing which is why she probably could practice relentlessly, she is a goddess no doubt jsjsjs you guys shouldn't fear either! I mean from one who only picked a violin once cause my sister had to go to the toilet lol, I think even getting to have correct posture and getting one good note out of it is INCREDIBLE. I guess what I want is for you guys to take the ling ling self esteem potion and go for it cause yall are amazing, not only at playing violing, but at comunicating and bringing people together. You make me enjoy learning about music and violin jsjsjs You shine in your own way, and I hope that as long as you love it and it makes you happy, you keep picking up the violin. Hugs from Chile!

I have to say, one of the great things about being a vocalist is that we don’t have to worry about literal children being better than us lol. I think any classical singer worth their salt would acknowledge the effort and encourage the student but internally I’d be judging their voice teacher HARD if the kid was singing the same opera rep I am as an adult. The growing voice needs to be tended with care. IMO, there’s plenty of art songs out there that can teach children anything that’s age and development appropriate. No need to rush the demands of operatic rep and risk damaging the voice.

I think honestly the hardest part of being in the music career path is that you know that even if you put in alot of effort, talent still undeniably plays an important part Also when those talented people maybe put in more effort than you do But its still amazing to be able to work in something that you love, and thats all that matters so heads up guys!

  • @Penguisawesome

Esther Wong to be honest in my opinion, talent is something you earn from the dedication and time you spend on an instrument. It wouldn’t matter how good you are or how talented you are because the music you play can be admired as long as you love what you’re doing.
