That's one reason but the main issue is at the time after JBL won the wwe championship Smackdown didn't have an heel champion and Big Show Taker and Kurt were all injured Brock had just left and John was a year away from the main event

Christian benefitting from Edge's injury lead to him finally winning a world title in WWE.

I'm still waiting for someone to try and say Finn Balor's injury wasn't that bad. If you saw the segment live, or get some uncut of it, you literally see him ask the cameraman if this looks bad, and cameraman winces, and he pops his shoulder back into socket.

I'm surprised you only briefly mentioned the "Lost Smile" of Shawn Michaels. Shawn's "injury" in 1997 gave the Undertaker the biggest push he had up to that point, and to a lesser extent Sid. Without Shawn breaking his leg, Sid would never have beaten Bret Hart and become the first WWE Champion to win the title on a Raw show, and the Undertaker would never have faced and defeated Sid at Wrestlemania 13. His title reign itself was pretty lackluster (his match against Mankind being the only one connected to his storyline surrounding Paul Bearer's knowledge of Taker's greatest sin and the reveal that his brother was still alive.) but the push to get him to the title was excellent.

Rest in peace Luke Harper.

I wouldn't say Cody benefited, more like he managed to turn chicken shit into chicken salad, make the best out of a bad situation.

I feel like that piledriver is the only reason they let him win the 2001 royal rumble and not Kane.

The Rock! He was suffering as Rocky Maivia. Getting booed and told to die as a baby face. Got a knee injury, returned and became a heel and the rest is history. Why that’s not on this list, I’ll never know.

I thought the last line of the JBL entry would mention how Lesnar left and the other two were injured, and Triple H didn't wanna work Tuesdays. Speaking of Triple H, if he didn't get injured, i don't think we would've gotten the Invasion angle when we did. They were building for the Two Man Power Trip to break up, I'm guessing that would've been SummerSlam. Possibly with Rock for a triple threat since they put him on the shelf. But Rocks off, H is hurt. Bring in the other rosters.
