Anxiously awaiting the best 10 styles video for inspiration. I think I've had about 10 different styles during quarantine.
Gotta wear what YOU want and what YOU can grow. Be comfortable to be unique. Ignore the negative.
Amish beards and those of other groups are a symbol of their commitment to pacifism, from a time in the 18th and 19th centuries when having a strong beard or moustache was a requirement of soldiers in most European standing armies as a sign of being warriors. It looks odd in the 21st century aesthetically, but isn't to be ridiculed really.
@yardy88

That's actually really interesting. They could update to full beards because you can't wear a gas mask with one (which is a requirement for modern military service), but I think the symbolic aspect of it is awesome

The thumbnail for this video is gold! I love Carlos, but that pencil 'stache is just greasy. LOL
I had the thin chinstrap without a mustache during the 2000s too. Must’ve been a trend at the time. The beard became part of my main look in 2010. As for the pencil mustache, I feel that is one reason I have not been to the barber in ten years. Aside from having to travel extensively, most of the barbers in my area would have commented negatively about going for either a “less carved” look or a longer beard and mustache before they became cool in urban environments. Part of the irony (especially today being the anniversary of El Grito de Lares,) a physician/political activist had a long beard (Ramon Emeterio Betances.)
😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 awesome tips, I would never have any of these beard styles, Love the video.
Not having a beard is WORST BEARD STYLE?🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
@rockspyder3970

Yes indeed, not having a beard, where it would naturally be growing, is by far the worst. The shaved face appears mutilated. Like a plucked parrot. Its just sad! Dont shave!
I had a full beard for over a year but it still looked patchy. I shaved down to a mustache and soul patch (the Zappa) and feel like I have a new face. I play music professionally so it fits my social/work circle
My grandfather, who is French, had a Hitler mustache in the 1930s, when it was popular. One day a man on a train told him that my granddad looked like Hitler. He shaved it the next morning.

Had the chin beard for years lol. Also the goatee. Had to steer my son in the right direction on his hahaha
I've been trying to grow a fu manchu since my 16th, I'm now 23 and when I put moustache wax in it, I actually have two loose tendrils of like 2 -3 centimeters (about an inch) long, with a single hair passing my jawline. (had another one a longer while ago, but it fell off pretty fast) Maybe in a few years it'll really come through! :) I combine it with a long, thin beard portraying from the middle, but keeping the sides (where the tendrils hang) clean shaven. I've actually been thinning out my beard throughout the years, as my moustache started growing in and my beard started growing longer & a bit thicker. I also shave the middle part of the moustache, so I basically have a '2 part' moustache so to speak. The part right under my nose is shaven. So my moustache is really distinct from a 'horseshoe', which is really a different moustache all together as it aren't 2 tendrils but a combination with the hair below the moustache, which is shaven off on a fu manchu. I don't like those 2 being put under the same category. You wouldn't put a dali moustache with a pencil or a 'walrus' either, e.g., would you? Shaving the middle part, creating two distinct tendrils, loose whiskers, parts; also makes it quite distinct from a dali. It's not an inverse dali, it's not a horseshoe. It's an actual fu manchu. But not *yet* portraying past my jawline. I have naturally quite curly hair though, so it's not the easiest, but I've wanted a fu manchu since I was 14. haha Never actually seen one in real life, even online you barely find anything about it. The same couple of pictures. Most from the actual character called fu manchu. (like shown in this video) So it's mostly a work & experiment in progress, and hope that nothing serious will happen to my moustache, as those few long hairs are quite delicate to keep healthy & safe of course.

What made you decide to go for that classic trailer park look? Mullet and stache...good foundation for giving people advice on style;)

Vincent Price rocked that pencil stache though 😂

I actual love the pencil mustache, I'm a huge fan of Old timey fashion and music, 40's, 30cs, 20's. this mustache was very trendy back then, many black and white actors had it. so I think if you know how to groom it, it looks awesome
Personally I think the pencil moustache looks really good when you shape it with your lip
I grew both the Van Dyke and the Soul Patch. My Van Dyke was cool as hell but it was very tedious to shave around. My soul patch or "lower lip mustache" had been on my face for years.

My wife said the same thing about my beard when I grew it. Sometimes you never know until you grow. -Eric
Bruh... My beard won't grow on the sides of my face, so in like past 10 years (I'm 28) I went from soul patch, to goatee and now I was thinking about that van dyke style. But I see that you put every one of them on the list so what am I supposed to grow? I'm not that confident to wear just the chevron :D
Bad boy with a good style thumbs up mate
The Soul patch is timeless!
I rocked the soul patch with some long sideburns in the late 90s early 2000s.

Yeah, i wasn't a digging it when Carlos tried the pencil stache. I tried put the mutton chops one time, though i can't connect my mustache to the rest of my facial hair, so i just shaved it and started all over. Right now I'm growing out my goatee and have been trimming my sides and mustache short to stubble length, and have been shaving my neck.

I rocked a chin strap 2018-2019 and then went with a nice soul path from 2020-2021
Oh my god, I had a big laugh with the first one, i was not expecting that hahahah lmao
Hi there, @Beardbrand Alliance aka Eric Brandholz. I had a particular style of moustache in mind where I would make the edges of my moustache straight so as to separate it from my beard, and I made a huge mistake. I shaved too high up. If I were to make the other style equal, I would have the toothbrush moustache, and there was no way no how that I will have a moustache like that. So I shaved my moustache of entirely and I rocked the whaler. The problem was that I wasn't happy. It didn't really suit me. I suppose that if I wore a hat, I could pull the whaler off, but I wasn't happy anyhow. So I used my beard trimmer to cut it all off and start afresh from a stubble. The profile picture I have now is my most recent.
I like the energy this guy has
When I clicked on this ,I was thinking a guy with a mullet and "pornstache" is about to let me know the styles he hates.I'm glad you addressed it right off the bat.Grow your beard back,it looks better.Good stuff.
The chin strap is a beard style that I still rock to this day because it suits my face shape and that's the most facial hair I can get with it. I can't grow a full beard since one side of my face grows patchy, so a chin strap helps make my facial hair look full.
I love this video
My intuition says the chin strap is likely to come back in style in the future as a form of nostalgia, like we are currently doing with the 80s.
damn dude, i have a goat and a soul patch that hit hard hahaha, but i am starting the beard journey know!
i'm on my 16 years and i have a lot of facial hair growing up, i am thinking of doing the mutton chops because i think it's a very badass style, take Lemmy from motorhead for example, the shape of my face suits the style so i think i'll rock it, whether it'll look cool or not i'm doing it
7:52 I thought that was Fred Durst from Limp Bizkit lol
Eric, any advice on how to deal with face masks training your beard the wrong way, i.e. molding the beard to stay tucked in too close to the neck when you look at it from the side. Im talking about the respirators that push your beard back towards your neck.

Things are gonna do what things are gonna do. If you're working with a longer styled beard, my recommendation would be to focus on your shower game. Co-washing is the best way to keep your beard soft and pliable. Then, you can work with the right styling tools like a blow dryer and styling balm to help keep things relatively in place. You have to keep in mind that this method isn't fully sustainable but you can set yourself up for the possible outcome. -Sly 🤜

Luckily a lot of those aren’t possible for me as I can’t really grow dense facial hair. Almost none on the sides and cheeks. I’m limited to a few. Few day old growth moustache, soul patch combo with a bit on the chin is all that looks good on me and lasts about a week until it looks odd and then just end up being clean shaven.

I’ve grown a mustache and goatee rocking it pretty well so far.
My great-grandfather was rocking a really small toothbrush mustache back in the 1930s
The soul patch would have to be on my list as #1 worst. What's the point of having that little patch of hair growing under your lip, especially if it's only 8 or 10 strands of hair, like I've seen some people with...... absolutely hideous. By the way..... that mustache of yours Eric..... awesome! Wish I had one like that.
