my god this video just resparked my interest in D2 again. i was super disappointed blizz gave up on D2r already, but now i have a new excitement for ladder start! so many fun unique builds to try!

i first tried d2 in 2010 and then i chose asassin and wanted to play like 2 claws ninja with maxing both passives.then i found a friend who was guru of d2 and explained me that i need highend gear for it to work. last year i finally started to play d2r seriously and chose ww-sin guide on icy veins as only build that maxes claw passives. + for wwsin. i also try to play other characters as physical-carry style. i finally have farmed all that gear that i needed in 2010

i play offline. i made chaos in runic talons but should in suwayyah. will later remake chaos. i also have shadowkiller for left hand and will try to find Jah and make Fury in suwayyah for left hand.@@BH-gh6qm

Something worth mentioning is that you can build any character in the game just about and still clear the entire game on players 1-3. Even poison dagger necro will work... if you're lookin for a challenge

I'm so glad you made this video! I was trying to decide between these "S tier" meta builds on maxroll, and I was starting to get a little bored with the game after playing so much the past couple months. But some of these builds are fascinating! D2 is amazing.

Im only a few minutes into the video but I want to say I have used your electron, spicy arrows, and fist of the north star builds as a basis for my current characters. They are top notch and I love the detail you go into, more weird builds please!

Played WW sin on single player for quite a while. I used the whole Natalya set and a chaos Suwayyah. Most of the WW damage came from Venom buff (i used Trang gloves). You basically place two death sentries, ww into a group, kill one or two, and the CE do the rest. Very fun and ninja like playstyle. I would advise using a normal (not superior) claw without skills to minimize repair costs, if that is a problem fro you.

Yeah your WW skill isn't very high and claws don't have that high damage. But it's good enough to start the CE chain.@@gefehede7783

I really liked these ideas! I've been thinking about build an ench sorc bow for a while, and the idea of ​​using holy fire paladin really caught my attention! The bowmancer, too. First time long time, what was that bear sorc build i remember from way back in the day? Is that just a worse enchant build?

I made a Wolfhowl barb on NL piecing together gear that I already had. It’s similar to a Frenzy barb in that you get insane run speed, and you can run so fast you don’t even need to teleport. The character feels almost invincible since you can beef up all of your passives and war cries, and easily get 5k health max res iron skin. I also used Stormshield, just because I had it. It’s a nice change of pace if you play fragile sorcs all the time. It’s really is a testament to how powerful the barbs passives are, because you are only using a level 4-6 rage as your main attack, and it’s fine. Your crescent moon idea is interesting, becuase like every other melee barb, it lacks crowd control

I made a frozen orb/hydra sorceress and a bowazon. Now those aren't weird but I never used them before. I really enjoy them.

trying out all the builds is great, definitely something people should do.

My wolf barbarian has a beast ogre maul, big 2h damge and bonus points to lycanthropy can also transform into a bear barbarian for something different, and don't forget about the Fanaticism aura

What are your criteria for "this build actually works"? When in barb werewolf form your merc was doing more damage than the barb...

That's hurricane wolf build is badass I'm going to use that!

I think I'll try the Demon Machine Sorc. That looks fun. Reminds me of the Immolation Arrow Amazon.

Hey so in my offline I made a "thor barb" a couple of things I've done which are different from you, firstly my merc, I gave him Lawbringer and Voice of reason (very cheap weaopns really) an arreasts face and a shaftstop, he doesn't die and murders things with me, secondly I used dream in my helment for the holy shock which is just insane with this build and I highly recommend trying it, my final piece I've not got yet is I want chains of honor as I'm currently using lionheart.

When using wolf howl with dual crescent, is the second weapon useless? i thought it only takes the main weapon into account? or is the -res added? I got the dual crescent moons rn but my build feels really bad in hell

The negative res from the second weapon is still added just like in the Thor build. You also need the small charms with added lightning damage. This is a big part of it.

Would love to see your Thor/Wolf barb build guide! Could hero editor modify Jalal’s Mane to make it wearable by Barbs?

One of my fav builds i made back in the day that was really good for PVP AND pvm is max fcr charged bolt sorc that dealt 1.1k-1.2k light dmg per bolt and it was godly and so fun to play

About the crossbow sorc or paladin, maybe I'm wrong, but I think the enchant is more effective on the sorc since the fire dmg on hit is also boosted by the fire mastery, while the enchanted paladin will get the exact number shown on the enchant skill. I still think the paladin with the base enchant and the holy fire can out dmg the sorc like you said.

Agree about Enchant being more effective on the sorc due to double dipping of fire mastery. However, I don't think the paladin can achieve 20k+ fire damage arrows like the sorc can. The highest level enchant with skill shrine only gives ~6300 fire damage to a paladin without facets. It gives up to 25k to the sorc.

26:24 Back in LOD days, I used to play around with a ww assassin. They can be fun, I used chaos and plague as my claws if I remember right.

I always wondered about Brand runeword, does the mob eating the arrow take the spear damage also? I guess (and hope) so or it would be pretty disappointing but I think its worthy to ask

why use double swing over frenzy? for the thor barb. I have seen similar builds in LOD using frenzy

Double swing requires less increased attack speed to hit the maximum break point. Which in turn means less ias equipment required. Also double swing starts at its full speed whereas frenzy has to build up to its full speed. And if that's not enough, the double swing has no mana cost

I’m a little upset I’m not the first one to invent the 2h converter conviction build. Though I never thought to use thorns to kill myself in one shot.

I’m going spearzon this ladder highly underrated build in my opinion clears all game at p8 when fully geared at a decent clear speed actually

I been trying to do immortal mosaic assassin for hardcore , My setup: Kira's guardian Ormus robes Cats eye Tri res boots 2 mosaic Tgods Dwarfstar Ravenffrost 20fade (maybe bad idea, ) 28 Damage reduction , 67 all res,87% curse reduction 20 phoenix strike 20 lightning sinergy 20 cold sinergy And since I very slow while using fade, and I need to run for the next victim before de aura vanish, I hired a act1 merc with the bow that gives Vigor What do you think? Could you do your version? Remember I'm trying to do immortal assassin Any other immortal character besides sorc?

I bet you loaded up a character and was like "oh yeah there's that item I was looking for." after you just found/made another one.

All builds are useless in P8. The slider you see him showing is for OFFLINE play only. It doesnt affect online play. Else you would be able to create p16 games which isnt possible. The only build that works in this video is the WW assassin. But it is not a fun meme build. Its a high investment build because you need specific stats like IAS Fhr and such to hit certain breakpoints. And it can be expensive. Enchant sorc is cheap and is easy to make from ladder start, but is useless from nightmare and up unless you got a conviction aura paladin in your party.

Enchant sorc is useless in NM and up? I completely disagree with you there. And once you hit endgame with infinity she can easily cleap P8. As for the other builds, yeah most meme builds aren't built for P8, but most people just play P1 so it doesn't really matter.

Enchant Sorc, Strider Paladin, Thor Barb, WW Assassin, 2h Veng All Tested and work fine in P8. not really sure what you guys are on about. And that 2H Veng Paladin one shots everything including himself.
