Girl! Your braids look amazing. Take them out?????? For what? LOL! I am on a mini - braid hair journey and ain't no way I am redoing them every 5 weeks 😅😅. I had my mini braids done professionally on blow dried hair and they have lasted 4 months without me taking them down. They are not matted. I have redone the edges and a couple of braids here and there but nothing serious. I'm keeping them in for at least 6 months. A couple things: - I wrap my braids every night (like wrapping a silk press) which stretches them and keeps them from tangling/matting/knotting. - I wash my hair weekly. However, when I deep condition my hair, I make sure to not add conditioner to the roots. Only to the strands of the hair. This keeps the hair from tangling at the root. - I spray my hair with a homemade hair tea before adding the deep conditioner. It's one tablespoon green tea and one tablespoon hibiscus leaves in two cups of distilled water. The green tea keeps the hair from shedding and causing knots. I do this every single wash day. It helps with shedding tremendously. You can also spray this tea in your scalp a couple times throughout the week before adding a leave in.
