What do you recommend for a small bedroom setup... I just moved and have a small bedroom now.. I have a queen sized bed with storage underneath which helps alot with not having a lot of space and closet storage. but what would you recommend for bed layout with a chest of drawers?? I've moved the bed 3 times so far and I'm not 100% happy with it.. trying to have the most open space i can in the room without having to put the bed against a wall... any ideas and tips are welcomed

🌹 Girlfriends wear makeup and have periods so I invested in some beautiful chocolate towels and sheets that look great and keep me sane.😁 I’m not a fan of dirt or stains.I also invested in a couple dozen black washcloths that come in really handy. White is beautiful, keeping it white and stain free was a workout for this Virgo.

Notes for myself - make it neat and minimalistic - lamps. Make it look nice when you turn off the ceiling lights - arrange furniture for an experience. Avoid putting it up against the wall. - consider putting products in simple jars you label with a cricut to make it look nice (I already have a Cricut) - put pillows in cases too small for them so they'll look more fluffy and stand up better - white towels

REALLY agree with you on Lamps! I'm an Electrician, and for me recessed lighting is great for "soft fill in light in certain areas, but nothing gives a home that warm feeling than lamp light.

While warm white walls can make a home look more 'expensive', they are not always practical for households with children or multiple pets. The other problem with using only whites and neutrals is that, after awhile, all the houses start to look alike! I've learned that using a neutral color like pale gray, cream, or light beige is a great idea for hallways and as the main color throughout, but use coordinating colors in individual rooms, either painting a whole room in color or an accent wall. Some intense colors like burgundy, pumpkin, deep hunter green, or indigo blue is just as expensive-looking as white if the furnishings are well chosen. I have made and sold pillow covers in the past, and agree--the insert needs to be full! Also, thrift stores are absolutely a great way to make a home look classy without breaking the bank. Here in Florida, even many antique stores have quality items for great prices, and will often have a mix of both antique and newer furnishings.

I would say an exception to the dishes rule, is fine china. Beautiful different plates that have different flowers on each plate or different scalloped edges or what not are really all beautiful, and when the table is set with fine China of different types it just looks glorious. There is an exception to every rule and I believe this is one of them. I also don’t mind beautiful glassware that’s not all the same. For example, some etched glassware, some glassware with gold fittings or gold edging, some fluted glassware, and colored glassware such as yellow or pink, ect. do not need to match at a dinner table and they still look beautiful.

Inspired by your cushion cover hack… I implemented my own hack; fold in a big towel or two to make a square shape and put it inside the cushion’s cover. This way it’s fuller and yes it does look better and more plush. Bonus, I got to use my mismatch bath towels in the process!

I changed to all white towels and sheets when we downsized and we keep way less around. No need for a linen closet as we keep 4 towels in each bathroom and one extra set of sheets, a blanket and a pillow in a container under each bed. I donated three full garbage bags of the old ones to the local animal shelter and they were glad to get them. So don't throw yours out!!

We always put them back for cleaning rags. If we had plenty for cleaning we took the rest to the animal shelter. I would have never thought of that until I heard someone asking if anyone had some they could donate. She was volunteering at the animal shelter and explained how badly they needed them.

Good tips for making any space look cozy and nice. I agree, most people won't even notice, but some people know luxury better than the rest. Calcutta marble floor, Mahogany wood etc. No amount of decoratiom can really replace the true value of material. There's a difference between style and class, people who know it, know it very well.

I just found this channel moved to my new house and painted chantilly lace. I love decorating! I usually find an item or piece of furniture I love and decorate from there. I found black velvet high barstools for kitchen island, with gold legs. And went from there. I found black coffee table with gold legs, and lamp. Looks elegant and luxurious . I softened the look with a fur black rug under coffee table, and my accessories are warmed with wood bowls on my kitchen table with fruit. Wood bowls on my coffee table , with gold pineapple. I have black and gold wall hangers with plants in them. I find the fur throw blankets really warm a room plus make it look luxurious. I found black and white fur animal print throw for my couch. I changed my knobs on kitchen cupboards to black and my faucet to black. My cupboards I painted white

Regarding plates, dishes, and cups inside the kitchen cabinets, doing what you said is desirable but unnecessary if the cabinets are not glass or see-through, because after all, who is going to be looking inside those cabinets? Some people may not be able to afford doing this as there may be other priorities. I am a person who is easily affected by living conditions in my home environment, hating clutter and disorganization, because it imparts a bad feeling inside me, so I do enjoy listening to these kinds of videos which give you useful ideas although I am already a natural at home decorating. I think that even if a home is on the humble side, as long as things are kept clean and organized, that alone is good enough. Thanks.

I am an absolute white lover, I love the colour white, I used several shades of whites in the same room to add subtle tones, but I think there are many times that a splash of colour been a neutral or a colour you love can really bring a room to life. I have white dinner plates etc and use my late parents dinner plates etc as well. It brings a level of sophistication too any dinner table. If you want to try this but don’t have an older style dinner set hit the charity shops garage sales etc. I agree with having 3 items grouped together, but also have collections of 5 & 7 as in nature and floral arrangements.

Piping on the pillows are some kind of trim. Nice quality fabrics really help. I think they going for that plain restoration hardware Pottery Barn style can look like a model house but not in the ideal way. Generic is never high-end.

I am always careful about scents. A lot of those sprays have chemicals in them that you breathe in and if you spray daily, its not very good. Oils and things like that are a little better, but often those also have chemicals for artificial smells as well. For some reason I love it when my house smells like I just cooked. lol So whenever I'm having guests, I always make sure I cook something right before with some garlic, spices, Italian seasoning and it works great for me. I also burn some wood in the fireplace and it adds to the cozy feeling.

I love the thought of having my home look more elegant, like a hotel, but my partner and I are interested in a balance of hotel-y-ness and personalized home-y-ness. Do you have any ideas about what rooms or areas should be more hotel-y and what should be more cozy, and what kinds of decorations are more hotel-y (like a starter, generic decoration until you find a personal item…?) Thank you so much, and this video is brilliant!!

I love all your tips and tricks. The only one I don’t like is the white walls. I just bought a new home and it has all white walls and I can’t stand it. To me, white is dull and boring. I like color, even if its just neutrals, but I need some color. So now I have to start picking out colors for my walls because I don’t want one single room to be white. I prefer to have a color on the wall and then have a bright white on the doors, trim, and ceilings. Then the white looks nice and pops off whatever color you choose.
