matze smith thanos has a sword with a blade...blades are made for cutting and penetration whereas Thor has a hammer which is blunt so it wouldn’t be able to cut the shield. Also vibranium is known for absorbing energy

Thanos is way larger than Thor and he hits harder because he has bigger muscles. Not to mention, Mjornir wasn't a sharp object, but Thanos' sword was.

Far as summoning, in the comics it’s explained that he’s predicting and calculating the projectile and angle that would allow it to come back. Which is pretty impressive while in combat. Same way with boomerang, you have to know where and how to throw it in order for it to come back to origin

When I first saw Captain America, it was in a snes Avengers video game. When he threw the shield it would come back to him like a boomerang, even if nothing was there. I always thought that was how it operated somehow. I still don't see how you can perfectly time a rounded object that can perfectly bounce off and back to you. But it works I guess. 😆

The bouncing can be explained by elastic collisions, similar concept to the newton's cradle, and the laws of reflections. Supposedly Vibranium's properties help with those concepts.

Most unbelievable part is in endgame when pepper pots appears with the rescue suit and is able to use and control it as well as tony🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

When Cap fell from the elevator he used his shield as a cushion because it absorbs vibrations. Therefore much of the impact was taken by the shield. Thor is hitting the shield with an angle when Thanos is directly trying to break it. Also Peggy Carter is a S.H.İ.E.L.D agent and highly trained so she can shoot the middle of the shield when any other person can't. (The middle of the shield is relatively smooth and flat when the sides are not.)

The Shield is still pretty strong even if the laws of physics doesn't allow it to be.

I think I've a logical answer to explain why Captain America's shield returns back to him. Just like we throw rubber ball at a wall and it bounces back to us, Captain America's shield also bounces back to its thrower after hitting the target.

Moving propellers are easy to break. Especially turbines, like birds damage plane engines a lot.

Simple Explanation: Since Cap used the same shield all throughout the entire MCU, it got worn down every movie. Just because vibranium is super strong doesn't mean it's 100% indestructible. Since Endgame is obviously the last movie the shield is in, that means it was completely worn out, and Thanos, being as strong as he is, was able to deliver the final blows to finally destroy it.

But can it bend a Thanos Blade? Edit: *no it cant*

Considering Thanos' sword was sharp, it's not surprising that I cut through the shield for two reasons, it only blocked Mjolnir because of vibranium's repulsive properties and the blade was sharp but Mjolnir is blunt force and blind force would probably not have an effect on it that much. EDIT: someone can explain this better than me I'm just giving basis for why it happened

The deal damage part probably has to do with how hard cap hits with or throws it

I’m not trying to oppose you but Howard Stark did say at in first avenger that vibranium “absorbs” lots of vibration. This is how Cap landed. He flinched but the fall’s vibrations were absorbed by hide shield. Now that nerd time is over, good job on the video!

Maybe the bullets were able to bounce off of Cap’s shield because they were different bullets and different/more powerful guns

it is called vibranium because it absorbs all vibrations which is why he can survive really high falls and hard hit because no vibrations hit him
