Decent entry level gloves can be found online for about $50-70. Although she plays at a very high level, my 17 YO daughter is still using gloves in that price point because she is familiar and comfortable with them. It also doesn't bankrupt me since we have to get her new ones about every 2-3 months.

Try to wash the gloves regularly, and use 2 pairs, one for practice/training (whatever u call it, I've heard different things), and one for matches. I do that for a few years now, and it's really effective. Most important thing is to wash the gloves with glove cleaner after every session and then letting them dry on a towel tho :) That way you don't have to buy new gloves every 2 to 3 months, but should comfortably get through the season with 2 pairs. OH, and after each season my match gloves become my training gloves, and I get a new pair for the matches

Didn't really like finger saves even as a beginner. Also didn't like overly thick palms. Use to sprain them fingers for days with 10 dollar gloves tho 😂

Most pro GKs do not like the finger saves, it makes the glove too rigid. There are a few that do like fingersaves but more often pros do not use that feature

Every pro goalkeeper started with 10$ goalkeeper gloves

I wore similar gloves to the $10 set in the early 90s. I had 206 saves with them!

The real crazy ones are the people that kick directly to him

I would recommend 30 pound/ dollar to 50 pound/ dollar. You can get some good quality gloves around that price good latex, grip, comfort, and sizing also alot of them are padded with a punch zone or not ( I mean if they're padded no need for one you can still punch) and mostly negative cut but obviously you can choose. I use S1 goalkeeper gloves 30 pounds / dollars loads of different styles use the S1 classic 3.0 negative cut black. Honestly they're amazing I would recommend. 9/10 grip could be a bit better.

those $10 gloves they call that style goalkeeper training gloves, and if your not playing in the Premier League or going to the World Cup its all you need. get strong arms and hands. I played most of my years with $10 goal keeper gloves and $10 football boots Id get 2nd hand at Value Village. Its really all you need.

When I played in goal I preferred the thin gloves. Found it easier to catch the ball because there was less padding. Spent a few years in youth academies and was allowed to wear thin gloves.

Honestly I never had gloves playing goal, so anything woulda helped 😂

First used the entry, 20$ "replique"/"training" gloves whatever they called them many years ago by Adidas. Designs probably haven't changed in 15+ years. The lack of thumb wrap and backing would be killer as shown by Berto!

Had a receiver coach (Canadian football) who unfortunately passed away in December.. he would always line us up 10 yards away from him, and run full sprint directly at him while he threw bullet passes.. the goal was to strengthen the hands and improve catching ability.. for those that chose to wear gloves, he went extra hard to try and tear them off your hands. That drill alone was one of the most important drills I ever did in football, and we implement the same things now that we coach receivers. No gloves at practice. Gloves are a tool to enhance your ability, if you practice in them you learn to rely on them.

I would buy myself maybe 2 pairs of $ 20-25 gloves for training sessions, so that I could save the more expensive ones for actual games. At the end of the day, a goalkeeper's skill matters way more than the gloves they're wearing! Still great video for demonstrating the difference, and again must say that Uhlsport is a good return for the money.
