Because of this video, I LITERALLY just went and tried Four Brothers food. I'm an ole country boy that came from Kyle, Texas to try his food. Great food and pretty nice dude. The food is even better in person than salivating over it through KZread lol.

I live fairly close to Four Brothers and honestly I was pretty disappointed by their food. The sandwiches were pretty dry, and both the meats and sauces were almost flavorless. I did like the bread, but the insides were pretty meh. Idk maybe they were just off that day...

@@skitzcunt4213 Normally seeing a color like that, I would agree, but when you smoke a steak, it ends up taking on a much darker color, especially if you are smoking it for an extended period of time. This is why pork ends up pink when smoking it, but pink pork when grilling and baking is very underdone. The level of sear and texture are the key things when looking at a smoked steak.
OMG That BBQ at the end looks amazing! ;)

14:06 Pork belly burnt ends are my favourite, and so simple to make in a Weber kettle. Difficult to get decent BBQ here in England (unless you are in London and have a fat wallet).
Max, one of my favorite desserts growing up was my grandma's Norwegian leftse (think potato tortilla - but since you're a Midwesterner you probably knew that.). We always just ate it with butter and sugar, but that seems like a very American thing to do! I know making it handmade can be quite the challenge. But I wonder, was it always a dessert, how far back can it be found, is it strictly Norwegian since potatoes may not have been brought there until later? Vikings? Love what you do!

Potatoes came here relatively recently i guess. I have never heard of anyone eating normal potato lefse with butter and sugar as a dessert around here tho.. that is kinda weird to me, even though i know they sell something similar premade in stores at times. We have allways eaten that for breakfast or supper. Otherwise we have like other kinds of puffy and soft, thin tortilla thingies made of flour that we add butter and sugar and maybe cinnamon and that is more of a dessert sorta. In my opinion there is a difference between the sort of dessert you serve after a meal and the sort of cakes and sweets that you serve along side coffee tho! I would say the soft flour tortillas belong to the latter category. They are like waffles or sweet buns in that sense, imo.
@damondiehl5637

Standard lefse is made with flour. Potato lefse came along after the time of the Vikings and became the typical lefse in America. In Norway they spread on jams or lingonberries. When we got together at holidays on my mother's side, all the women got together and made lefse. Some of the adults filled it with lutefisk and mashed potatoes and some gravy. I always ate it with butter and sugar.

Oh, I lived in Austin for a year or so. This was a good show, not a fan of Guat food- the Arepa's are so dense they start to draw the light in around them, hahaha. The grilled cheese looked really good and cheese steak is cheese steak though the Italian beef or beef un wek is probably the best beef sandwich made. The BBQ looked fantastic though- really well executed and for the small mortgage you have to take out on your home to buy it= it should be. It was cool seeing you at Union today- I'm assuming your doing another MN State Fair episode, that would be cool. I shoulda took a picture of us but I don't collect physical memories really- gonna take it all with me when I die, anywho- thanks for your work.
