This was super helpful. Love that carrot end removal tip.

Thank you! I now feel more confident about vegetable peelers, particularly the Y-peeler, which I was unfamiliar with.

I was Today years old when I learned that a peeler worked in both directions.

No matter what I do I can't make that pulling motion you showed with the Y-shaped one to work reliably :( Most of the time it just kind of scrapes the surface of the potato. I did manage to make it work if I hold the handle pointed at myself and push the blade outwards. But yours looks way faster and more efficient. What am I doing wrong?

Common issue...is the blade upside down?

I have one of those red type peelers, the peeled skin constantly gets stuck between the blades, I have to keep stopping to clear the peeler blade.

I can't disagree with you. I find speed is your friend with this peeler along with "tapping" the end on the cutting board on each down stroke to keep the blade from jamming up. Stay tuned as your comment makes for a great video idea!

I doubt the red one was designed to be held that way

Notice that Y shape has a hole at the end? Put your thumb thru it and drag to peel. As long as the blade is sharp, you'll love it. Also check the blade, turn it 180 around to see if it'll make any difference. Yesterday I took it off to clean/sharpen but put it back the wrong way. Got a real serious complaint from the wife, haha :) .
