some personal tips 1. if you plan to be a major seller on your server, especially alchemists, make a bank alt with a catchy name. Something people will remember, so that when they look for consumables or what have you they recognize the name. I dunno how much it affects other people, but I get a nice feeling when i see one name providing all the consumabes i need. It tells me the person is dedicated to keeping the AH stocked and I appreciate that and might not buy his undercutter. 2. Make sure if you plan to do flipping that you not have the alt dedicated to it be recognizable as yours. I don't suggest doing shady business, but even legitimate flipping can raise people's ire and if they know your main they might harass you for your business savvy. It sometimes good to have some anonymity for these transactions. 3.Level your bank alts when they have full rested and especially if you got them the rallying cry buff. This is not just so you can have a profession of enchanting. If you slowly level bank alts they increase in utility. If you get the coveted lvl 35 you have a professional tailor and alchemist to do your daily/weekly transmutes.You can also wear nicer gear and collect outfits that require a higher level. I always like to make sure my bank alts look like they belong. Nice clothes, maybe even some jewellery. 4. Try to find niche markets if you are interested in playing the economy as much as or more than adventuring. Bank alts can allow for some neat options. I used to collect white items from lvl 1-13 from rare mobs and sell them either plain or with excellent enchants from my main. They often had unique looks that some collectors liked and could be used for equipping alts for altoholics. I made anywhere from 50silver to 15gold for white items, and id either buy them in trade chat or farm them by parking other bank alts at rare spawns. It wasnt a huge amount of G, but i cleared 50G/hr at least meaning it wasnt a waste of time and it was a unique service that confused 99% of people i met, but my buyers were certainly grateful.

@Recognizable: can also have the opposite effect, e.g. because people dislike seeing characters that feel like they hold monopoly on part of the market and they might pay extra because they don't want to support the monopoly

@dalaman yeah i always liked being the alchemist on the server that had a full stock including ones for levellers like trolls blood and basic strength and stuff. At first it took more time then it was worth but eventually people realized that i would indeed make sure they had near 100% uptime on AH and then people bought potions all the time. it was an rp pvp server in burning crusade, lots of low level play and i could literally see the trend in people drinking multiple buffs while playing, lol.

I would add sending mail to your alt, but not opening it (it will bounce back after 30 days) for unlimited storage in the mailbox

There are not many guides on bank alts. The value of having a bank alt early on, and a couple more bank alts later in the game, is priceless. By the time I reach level 60, my alt's bank is full of sharp claws, felcloth, leather and herbs. A lot of guides will tell you to vendor this stuff as you level, but I earn so much more by mailing it to my bank alt who sits on it a while and rakes it in on the AH when the time is right.

Not sure if it was mentioned as a tip. But you can basically send a bank alt an endless amount of stuff in mail and just use the mailbox like a bank in itself. The items will stay in the mail for 30 days, so no worries about space management early on.

I do, enjoy the leveling process but also recognise the need for a bank alt. The easiest ally side bank alt is human easy to get to stormwind

Hey Ebbn. How about starting a Guild for your bank alt? We used to pay some gold to people on condition that they sign the charter then leave. This gives you massive amounts of storage space. I've never heard any bank alt vids that mention this. Is it not doable in Classic?

yeah, i don't think the ratchet thing is worth, would rather just take slightly longer to org and have access to everything, also it's nice when you log on a bank alt to be able to inspect people, just for fun. Also he was saying horde is the only one that can get a quick bank alt but tbh the stormwind run is pretty short from northshire

I hope we do not see the AH become useless for those that do not necessarily play the AH due to over and ridiculous pricing as we have seen in retail. The greed by a few that grew with popularity of TSM. What with the material flipping and price controlling to silly levels in the end most of the trade is between the flippers themselves. This made it extremely difficult to level ones own professions if you don't have much time to farm. This rendered the AH of no use to new players and in classic could easily kill the game. I mean no offence but it is a concern.

Nice video BUT ... you keep talking about "multiple bank alts" ... let's not forget that we will only be allowed 3 characters ... so a maximum of 2 "alts".

You're only allowed to reserve 3 characters now. You'll be allowed 50 characters across your account from launch

That is just the name reservation stage. At launch you’re able to have 10 characters per server, maxing out at 50. If you, say, want 1 character of each class on your realm, that’s 8 toons and 2 banks.

@@tylerdare717 Ok, my bad, sorry ! I am disappointed we'll be allowed 10 toons per server. I hope that won't have a negative effect on the in-game economy, due to players being able to use all their alts to master all professions and thus become self-sufficient with no need to trade.
