"I don't have children, I dont know if they eat plants" I *vividly* recall my cousin eating leaves on a bush outside of McDonald's because he thought he was a dinosaur.

I tried to be a cow when I was little and ate grass. I wouldn’t recommend it. I’m 30 now and still remember it tasting bad, being difficult to chew and I had a hard time spitting it out.

I used to eat morning glory leaves as a 5 year old . I have no idea why .
You're full of personality ✨ never think you're talking too much when you share what you're alive about, passion is a lovely drive force.
Nippy young children...😆😆😂 I literally laughed out loud. Love you Nick.

My five year old bit my husband last week on the shoulder while giving a hug because she “just loved him so much”. Made sense to me.🤷🏻♀️
So glad to end this horrid week with a reminder that there's still beauty in the world and today, I choose to focus on Nick and primulina. Thanks for the escape!
I appreciate that you acknowledge that common plants are often common for a good reason, and some rare plants just aren't good houseplants!
I've now watched a bunch of your videos and I just must point out something non-plant related. HOW is your use of the English language SO rich and flowy and over-all just a delight to listen to - I don't think I've come across anyone expressing themselves quite so simply yet abundantly. Thanks for making these videos, keep doing it! 😊
Great start to the morning. A cup of coffee and Nick talking about plants!☕🌱
Could you do another current houseplant tour? Just rewatched your one from February and it was like therapy for me with the stress of everything that's been going on.
My impression of Ken”s Philodendrons is that they are taking advantage of the ridiculously high priced market of rare plants. It’s as if they are doing customers a favor by charging the highest price they can gouge for their plants.

I'm obsessed with the mounted dischidia 🥰 I love mounted plants especially on natural bark 😍.
That monstera definitely deserves more love!
We all LOVE when you talk “too much” I know that I love all your planty passion and you get me excited about every little plant you talk about. I blame you for my now very very long plant wish list!
As a parent I appreciate your comments about kids and it makes me giggle! My youngest is a terror to my plants... he likes to swat the leaves of any I have on the floor like my big beautiful Monstera Deliciosia and he just started to rip the leaves. :( He is not gated off from them after some damages... Pets and toddlers are similar. I adore how candid you are with your commentary and your kitties.

I feel validated now because I don’t have kids and never plan to buy when people ask how I deal with my very much more precocious cat and my plants (and drawers, and cupboards, and, well, ANYTHING in the house) I always explain he is a “perpetual toddler with extreme vertical access”. Cages for plants, baby locks on everything, a makeshift trash can that’s on the middle of a wall where he has nothing he can jump on to get onto it from… 😂😂😂😂
"A cute little ladder for bugs or a frog or something." My heart!
Listen, this is the darkest winter I can remember! No wonder the plants are not growing fast! I personally cannot wait til spring....
Watching all the way from the Philippines 🇵🇭 ✨ I really love your channel and how you stand up for beautiful underrated plants 💕
Thanks Nick! It was really great to just relax and watch you show off some less common cuties!!! 💚🌿
Thanks Nick. Great content! Camposportoanum is my new favorite that I can't find!
Glad you show different plants thank you
The golden pothos should be on Instagram, such a faithful plant.
I adore gesneriads, I don’t think they get enough air time. I have a primulina that has leaves that smell like tobacco and it’s constantly blooming with purple flowers.
I love your plants & planty content. Thanks for being here Nick you're amazing!! ❤
You show us so many plants I’ve never seen before. I like that. 👍🏼
Can you do a video showing how you organize your plants to make sure your cats don’t eat the poisonous ones??
“A little ladder made for bugs or a frog or something” I adore that! 😂🥰
I NEED NEED NEED THAT THORNLESS CROWN OF THORNS!!!! I am obsessed with my crown of thorn plants 😻😻😻😻😻
Love how informative you are in your videos. I have learned a lot from them
I recommend water your plants (specially the slow growers) with banana water. It makes a huge difference on my plants. 😘
I love growing lavender as a houseplant. It has beautiful silver leaves and the flowers smell amazing. I never see plant people grow it.

I'm hoping that my Pokeberry seeds will sprout. Not usually one people think to cultivate, but the magenta stems and branches are fantastic. I want to try having one as an indoor plant haha

@@altanic5855 They're pretty -- especially the berries. But they're persistent weeds in my backyard. If you grow them, be careful since the sap is really irritating
Love the weathered white terra cotta pot❤👌🤗
Love this highlight of the plants that are not very common! I have started to get into plants in the last two years and I swear it's like I only see the same 10 plants no matter where I go!
I have a few primolinas and LOVE them!! So easy and bloom really well.
You are one of my favorite humans! Thanks for making great, relatable content!
I love the way that pot looks like now not new
"I don't have kids, I don't know if they eat plants but this is a decently poisonous plant" haha I'm dying, so funny!
I love my Euphorbia Geroldii so much. It’s one of my all time favorite plants. Always wondering why nobody’s raving about them. She flowers all year (eleven blooms at the moment!!), looks like a little stand of trees, and is totally unfussy. I have her potted up in an old bonsai pot to accentuate her tree-like looks. My cat smelled one of the flowers the other day and I just watched (ready to jump up if she did anything nippy). She just shook her head and walked away. Phew!
Thanks Nick. I am glad you introduce us to these unusual plants.
Thanks for the great tips! I'll keep watching and you keep growing 😆
This is honestly the content I live for!
Love your videos! Enjoyable as always!!🐝🦋
I love how u discuss abt plants always watching ur vlog how I want to have those plants to care of
Thanks for highlighting the Ficus 'Alii". I bought mine from Logees last spring, and it is so beautiful and so easy! Practically every time I look at it I wonder why it isn't more popular. And I definitely on the hunt for that sansevieria now! Thanks for sharing!
I’m so glad to find someone talking about a hallii!! I love them but there’s not a lot of videos about them.
Yes!!! I have a euphorbia geroldii and I LOVE it! I never see it and I’m surprised because it’s so easy and interesting. I also never see anyone talk or post about it. Yours is beautiful 😍 Thanks for sharing!
Loooooove the "weathered" terra cotta! And pretty much any sans I can get my hands on, lol
Beautiful plants
Thanks for all the informations you're sharing with us. Mahalo.
The basket the Ilagiorum is in is super cute too!
Loved this video Nick 🧤👒🙌🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺🥰
First off, love your vids! Second, a super underrated plant I’m currently loving is the Lebebouria Socialis. I got it in a mystery plant swap in 2019 and was unimpressed and now it’s so beautiful! I gave a pup to a relative who was in love with it as well.

I agree. I came across this plant for the first time this year and absolutely love it!
The Devils backbone ❤️ I just got a cutting from a coworker. It looks amazing and crazy as it grows!
Gorgeous Primulina❤❤❤😉
For ornamental plant lovers in 2021, love it
Aww I loved the bug ladder part 😂 the unknown plant I'm obsessed with is my Canna lily Stuttgart, looks like painted feathers with orange flowers ♥️
The sansevieria! Love it!
This is a random request but can you film in a different location in your house so we can see more of your plants 🙏🤩
As a person who’s had a genseriad obsession for a while now, I never see Pearceas or Corytoplectus and they are super amazing.
I have an Asian Violet and I LOVE it! I have 2 and they are amazing and soft and when they bloom they make me smile. So nice to see it in a video!
It’s actually pronounced Ficus Ahh-Lee-E Gold. Ali’i in Hawaiian means: King. As the ficus ali’i gold was first grown commercially in Hawaii 🤗🤩

I'm pretty sure that ''ii'' in latin should never be pronounced as ''e-eye'' even though everyone says it that way. Also big up for the Ficus alii, I prefer the regular cultivar over the gold one but it's such an underrated plant!
I could literally listen to you for hours! Really enjoyed the video and I ✨loooooove✨the blond hair

you mean bleached. Hes already blonde.
Nick, please, please, please do a vid on lighting. I need to see, maybe on paper, a square/rectangle with one large window. Then, if you named the window EAST, you could show, maybe using a pencil or round stickers, what placement is considered BRIGHT, MEDIUM AND LOW light in that diagram. 2 feet? From East window: is that still to bright? 6-10 feet? And what if the window is West? How many feet is turning into low light from medium? Help. Aaarrrggghhhh. Is there not some sort of information on the amount of luminance each family of plants needs and your info on that translates in a "made up" room.
I love all your plants. Look very healthy and well taken care of .
Baskets are the best! That hoya looks so cool :)
Love the Ali, never seen this color, so pretty 😍 really liking the Sansaveria. 💚😃
great video topic. i want more like this. so many beautiful (and more afordable) plants out there and yet all i see on FB forums, youtube and IG are PPPs, variegated monsteras and other $$$ aroids. you had me at Ficus Maclellandii...thank you!
Good good energy. Good program.
omg the first plant! I always thought mine was an Oleander, thank you so much for educating me!
I love the new set up! ;)
I have a lot of winter-in/summer-out plants. Mostly tender perennials. All houseplants were brought indoors from nature at some point. For me, failure to thrive causes aphids and spider mites to appear. Many (like hedera ivy) need fresh air breezes. Currently, I am trying a Ligularia Last Dance. So far, so good @ 3 months, no bugs, w new growth. I will put it back outside in spring. My best unusual discovery is Plumbago Auriculata. It is a tropical perennial shrub grown as a hedge in hot climates, with small ruffly leaves and clusters of pale violet-blue flowers. They started selling it as an outdoor annual here in Utah in 2018. I bring mine (10 inch pot) in before frost and it has wintered without bugs for 3 winters. It does get woody and requires trimming. I think this spring I will root prune & replace the soil with fresh.
I've had good luck getting my subpinnata to put out more leaves by wrapping the nodes in sphagnum on the pole. Mine was sending out a bunch of long runners and as soon as I started wrapping the nodes in moss they started making leaves again.
"..or nippy young children. If they do that? I don't have kids-- I don't know if they eat plants, but..." ;) Same on the cactus and thorns. I love them but I only have a few.. I take personal offense to a plant that wants to prick me-- like, why you gotta be so salty?.. :) It's the same reason there are peonies in my outdoor gardens rather than roses. Love your videos-- Thanks always for all the laughs and great plant information. I appreciate you!
One thing that I always appreciate about your vids is that you list the plants in the description. And of course, you have my attention over that sansevieria hahlii. Looks like a cow's tongue.
Love that Ficus!
5:03 i love your pot!!😍
Great video idea. I'm convinced that one of the reasons prices have gone up so much is because people aren't aware of other plants besides the ones they see on Instagram.
Love u .. lots of info u put forth
I doubt I have anything you’d *really* wanna trade for but that sporto plant is sooooo cute 😻 I plan on growing some crazy begonias, calatheas, and hostas once I get the proper setup!!
We sell primulina (Asian violet) at my job! I had never seen one before until I had started my job! They’re so much fun, and not too hard to take care of honestly!
I had a hoya in the past. I kept it under a skylight (window in the ceiling). It bloomed many times per year, making those light pink very fragrant cute flowers... after forgetting to water it fora couple of weeks! That spot had lots of bright sun and light. It is a gorgeous plant to have!
if you bleached your hair it looks amazing!🌵 love Philly Fridays lol
That Euphorbia Geroldii is at every garden here in Costa Rica, lovely plant.
I have a crown of thorns too. Mine stays green all the time and it has red flowers. At one time I had a pink and one white. 💗
Great video. I wish there was a farmers market in Toronto that sold cool houseplants.
Love the inspiration :)
aaah i love your videos!!!!
I recently picked up a Sansivaria cylindrica; it's super cool looking, and so far doesn't seem to be a space sucker.
Ah, finally I learn what the long-leaved plant is that I've had for about 15 years -> ficus maclellandii (not the variegated one though). Looks a little like a eucalyptus but no smell.
I love that dischidia and have had it on my wishlist for a while. They are not easy to come by. Hoping to get one in 2021. The one plant that I have that I never see much about on social media (I don't do IG, so I can't speak for it) is sansevieria dawei. It has the look of the mottled look of mansoniana but it grows taller and more upright. I love it.
It's nice watching a video again very amazed have a wonderful 21 Happy New Year
I just posted my Asian Violet on Instagram yesterday, sooooo. Lol! But it's blooming beautiful purple flowers right now and it's just so cute!
Love the unique and unusual plants, thanks so much. I was wondering if one could ever pinch out the top of the Pepperomia Mindset- would it branch or fill in on the bottom? What is the current thought on that process?
I never see Senecio macroglossus Variegatus (Variegated Way Ivy)--I bought it after seeing it on your channel because I am not even tryna grow any type of Hedera helix indoors. I love it, it's one of my favorite plants. So pretty--prettier than regular ivy--and grows faster than anything I have, even in the middle of winter! The most underrated plant I have.
I LOST IT when he said “nippy children” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I went out and bought the ficus thanks to you!
Thank you for showing that white terra cotta! My white terra cotta pots are starting to look like that and I was trying to figure out how/why they were getting so dirty 😂
That sansevieria is so interesting!
Hi Nick! Oh, this was fun. Love your comments while talking about the plants. I hope to find a Primulina. I love African Violets, but they don't seem to like me. ;-( Also, would like to find a Dischidia lanceolata and a Sansevieria hahlii. I like all of the plants you showed. Thank you so much for sharing!
