I'm grateful to the people who are brave enough and care enough to do this stuff. They saved my mom's life. She had an intestinal blockage and they had to remove about 6 inches of necrotic intestine at the hospital. The EMTs were quick and efficient. If they weren't or they didn't take it seriously, my mom was literal minutes away from death. They got her to the hospital ASAP in time for her to have emergency surgery. I'm so grateful they did. I nearly lost my mom that night but they did their job correctly and saved her life.

I love stories about first responders. I can't imagine everything they see.

I highly disagree about the patient with Ankylosing spondylitis 12:10 them “doing more harm than good” That gentleman had zero quality of life and even on comfort care, he was likely still in significant amounts of pain. Taking drastic measures to keep him alive would have been more harm than good. There are definitely worse things in life than death and as a chronic pain patient myself, being trapped in a hospital bed in a long term care facility wasting away day by day, just waiting around to die, is definitely one of them.

Wow...ask and receive! I was seriously just digging through my "Bedtime" chapter the night before looking specifically for 'Emergency Response '. After a 12hr shift cooking like crazy for hungry mooks it's JUST what I need. Stay Gold in the shadows, Mort! 🖤 🙌

When I was in elementary school I met a lady who was the first EMT in my area she was a friend's mother who I thought was already awesome she was ahead of her time back in the 70's especially in the small town like ours. Besides she'd travelled around the world and and already seen most of the world already and was ready for the next chapter.

I just found this channel yesterday, due to this EMT video popping up in my suggestions & I am now OFFICIALLY HOOKED!!! I know I am going to have so much fun BINGE watching/listening to ALL THESE VIDEOS!!

I love these stories, but most of them are heartbreaking ♥️

Thanks for another superb video. Listening to these gives me perspective and gratitude- for emergency workers, and for being in my own home doing work I love and being read to rather than on a gurney somewhere suffering.

Honestly, story 3 blew my mind. I never knew that could happen to a body. I mean, bed sores, yeah, but to move someone only to see they have fused with the couch while still alive? Ive only heard of that with decomp bodies...INSANE.

A friend gave my children and me a lift to town once in his brand new flashy car. He knows I dont like dangerous driving and thought it was funny to speed at a ridiculous rate trying to amuse my boys at my freaking out I think, he wouldnt stop the car no matter what i said. Undoubtedly he believed underneath my anger i was at least a little amused, he was wrong. Only half way to our destination i pulled my children out of the car, punched him hard twice in the face and thanked him for the ride, I never spoke to him again and he crashed that same car about a year after and lost his life. Every time I drive past the place where he died, there are still old flowers tied to the fence there, i feel anger because we did go way back and to see what this did to his poor mother was awful, what a waste,, so sad.

Wait, the old HBO series the Hitchhiker had an episode called the crowd Nick Mancusco started in that, it was creepy he was in an accident and" the crowd gathered , and he told his friendand he became obsessed with them.

You're Spanish accent is impeccable! You could easily learn and speak Spanish because you already have the accent down. Yes in Spanish the ( J ) is pronounced like( H) as In " Julio. And the ( h) is always silent Hernandez, it's pronounced ( ernandez, don't ever say ( her,it's always ( er). Lastly the two( LL), as in tortilla always pronounced like ( Y) )As well as the n with this symbol (ñ) as in piñata,..not sure why teachers don't teach these simple rules. This alone would help immediately with pronunciation! Gracias por las historians de terror! Ps your Spanish with your English accent would be so 😎 cool!
