    I am finding myself really enjoying the baking business chats and tips. I am a casual baker so I don’t have time for fails and to gain general business knowledge that take years of trials to figure out what does and doesn’t work. Other bakeries or home bakers aren’t so forth coming with what practices they use such are cake portion serves/charts, cutting guides and prices (specifically broken down costs like you covered in a previous video). I started almost a decade ago but I’ve only recently had to reach out to a professional baker just so I could gage if I was charging correctly. (Spoiler: I wasn’t 😂). I ONLY just now froze macaroons after watching your channel, I didn’t know you could. I’m sure if I googled I’d figure it out, but while watching other you tubers or reading recipes they just say “stored in airtight container up to 3 days” 😅 So feel free to be heavy on the advice that no one really talks about 😉 I also enjoy the fail fridays, the supermarket cake transformations.

    I'm so glad you're enjoying it! I feel quite comfortable being transparent when it comes to practices and pricing. Everyone has their own way of doing things and there really isn't a 'right' or 'wrong'. I always think pricing is one of the trickiest things when it comes to running a baking business!     I’m also looking to start a channel with the cakes that I will be making because, like you said, I’ll be making them anyways. I’d love to know your process of filming your videos. I go live in my FB group all the time and I love it so I’d like to make more.

    Oooo if you go live already you will LOVE making videos for sure! Are you going to upload through this username? Then I can be sure to check out your channel once you upload! I think I will upload my process once I get my equipment upgraded so I can show you both the 'simple' way I do things and the more elaborate way I'm (planning) on doing things.

    Hi, Christein! I don't know the ins and outs when it comes to American laws. Even here in Canada things change from province to province and even city to city. I know that one of the main things that you need here in order to comply with bylaws, is that you need to prepare all your baked goods in a commercial grade kitchen. A business license requirement will most likely depend on your bakery hitting a certain income threshold though I am not an expert on this particular subject! I would start asking some other local home bakers in your area (there's plenty of Facebook groups too that deal with home baking business questions like these :)).

    @@destyniiskywalker it varies, but there are different types of buildings that will get approval and can be zoned for commercial kitchen use
