I was lucky enough to find Floyd County, VA had kept a copy of the 1890 census. There are a few of them that still exist in the county where they were taken. They weren't supposed to keep a copy but now are greatly appreciated if they did.

Always a good reminder that the Census info might have come from a neighbor or senile Grandma who just happened to be home alone when the Gov't showed up.

Connie, (I wrote message many hours ago prior to post I exited in error. I will try to express what I initially said. This video was current to what I was doing last night (Nah not finding peeps on this trip, already successful. I actually used a map from the 1940s census; put the residence street & number-aware there would be changes. The map I was on was fantastic. there're tags when highlighted provided current street names. Ancestry is fun and time passes quickly. My description of research involved, compared to playing in a scavenger hunt. I'm certain you mentioned in prior videos but a reminder for those looking for 1890 census; limited availability for some areas(easy to find states who have). 1921, most of the schedules damaged in a fire at the Commerce dept bldg. Connie if you have additional info please correct me. I am amazed at how the census evolved over each decade & history of enumerators. Before, I leave to climb my family tree; I have crossed the pond to query England, Ireland & Scotland. so many countries also track the population of their regions. See you in the video.

I haven't been using databases in my research but I gave FAN a try and it really helped. A couple of details became clear where I hadn't seen them before by just reviewing the enumeration sheets. Thanks - just subscribed to your channel

I thought census was completely private and fax right now I cannot get my mail picked up for failure to turn in the damn census card
