1. Choose a high demanding language. 2. Have good webcam/use your phone as your webcam. Use a headphones as well. 3. Have a good internet connection. 4. Use applications like Duolingo, Notes to become more good teacher. 5. Always provide Excercises like quizzes, listening excercise while conducting any lessons. 6. Choose popular timing for scheduling. 7. Make an attractive profile. 8. Add some cultural things like flag, logo, symbols in your background via webcam. 9. Less cost. 10. Analyse your top competitors and always improve yourself.

I have a question.. will I be able to teach my students on Zoom using my Phone. after the student has booked a class? incase my laptop dies???

Could you please share some tips on how to get first students? Should I be looking for them manually in "Find students" (which is almost impossible because students are taken in no time), or should I just wait until I'm given students? And how long does could it take? Thanks!

Hello Zokhid. So, honestly, Preply is a place for students to find tutors, and not so much the other way around. "Find Students" is not helpful. Getting students on Preply is more about selling your personality and recording a happy and relaxed introduction video :). If you know other languages, be sure to add subtitles to your intro video as well. Also, make sure your profile score is 100% by writing a long and detailed description. You will also receive a lot of good information by participating in the webinars and tutorials.

Set your rate to $3-5 / hr until you have 100 taught lessons then increase

How is it going now?

My application was turned down unfoundedly. They copied and pasted in 2 emails that I don't meet the criteria to be a tutor on the platform, which is completely untrue, given that I have the qualifications and experience to prove otherwise. I spent hours trying to create an attractive and friendly profile, waited for days for my application to be accepted and instead I receive such a vague response as to why I wasn't accepted. This has truly been the worst application process and support I've experience in my entire life.

@@TheKingOfTheClouds Depends. If you need teaching experience and don't mind the bullying tone of the Preply auto communication.... Go for it. Italki is better in every way if you can get accepted. Actually Preply support is more responsive. Italki just empower you so you don't need support. The Preply system bullies you. The system has no respect for anyone. They will take anyone's money if they don't need you.
