My 'local con' is actually Anime Midwest and everything in that area, and I really like that the people running it have free ramen and water/soda so you'll never get dehydrated or hungry during the day :) It'd be really cool if every convention did this!

At the con I go to, CONvergence, there's a place called ConSuite that has rice, soup, soda, and usually some kind of fruit/veggie where the price is included in your ticket.

Fact: At my local con I always bring two water bottles each day. One for myself, and one for friends who get thirsty. Those water bottles are dried up within 2 hours, so I still have about 8-10 hours left in the day, and no immediate water source. Luckily, the convention has free water for the guests, except that free water is in the hotel, whereas the con itself is in the conventional building next door, so every time I get thirsty, it's a ten minute walk to water. Bring a lot of fucking water y'all.

Take the words of "surviving" lightly!! Cons for the most part, 99.5% of the time are safe and wonderful places!! But of course like any large space, with lots of strangers (and not to mention when all normality gets thrown out the window to an extent...heck people are walking around in colourful wigs and extravagant outfits) - it's good to know how to stay safe!! It'll also put your parents mind to ease knowing that you're aware and taking precautions!

To add on to your first tip I would just like to say that it's one thing to have water with you and another thing to actually drink that water. As someone who has experienced their first convention not that long ago I can say that this can be in issue. From my personal experience I had brought my own water bottle BUT I wasn't actually drinking said water because I just forgot to. It's very easy to forget to eat and drink water, especially at your first convention so just make sure that you first, bring water and second, actually drink the water. It was probable 90 degrees fahrenheit and I was wearing a very hot cosplay and I thought I was going to pass out and I didn't know why until I realized I wasn't drinking enough water. So please learn from my mistake.

At my first con, I spent all my money in the first two hours. Luckily, I was only there for the first day so it turned out alright

Gosh these are some good tips here! I've been going to cons for just as long and I feel like those new to cons won't know this all right away, it's not general knowledge until a few convention experiences. Also, going to AN for the first time, hopefully I'll bump into you guys so you can have one of those "omg someone knows who we are" moments :P

i didn't really clicked on the video because u could use the tips but for you guys xD your videos are always super funny and actually helpful too! it s super lovely to see you two having such a great and fun time while doing the videos!! :')

I've been in that position- "is that Becky I the distance?!" Horrible and inconvenient

On the bag issue. I always ask a Booth person to hold my bag if my friend isn't nearby. Cause the booth people can't go anywhere. (Plus I tend to cling to a Booth I really like and become friends with them)

Its better to be safe than kidnapped XD

Omg this has helped me a lot! I'm having a con on October here in my country New Zealand! I'm bringing a lot of friends with me to. I sent this video to all of them! This really has helped me to keep myself safe since I am still pretty young! Thanks again

This was great! Even if I stick with my friends all the time, I have now written down emergency numbers just in case, because who knows what can happen? My battery always runs out quickly during a con. And a meeting spot is a good tip too! I actually did a "mistake" at my first con. I talked to this photographer while my friend went to the rave without me, and we talked for so long and then I decided to find a toilet without telling my friend about it, she kept calling me but for some reason I couldn't hear anything, so she thought that something could've happen to me and with that guy (he was also a bit too friendly). I was alright, but later on this guy asked me to keep him company to the train station, and it was late... But I just told him that I had to return to my friend. So nothing really happened, but I made my friend worry about me.

Loving the con rush so far! I've only been to one con so these tips are quite useful, thanks a lot (they're also good to show my parents~) Love the bow btw Erin!

Tip: always have something small to eat on you even if its just some sweets or cookies. just telling because i tend to forget to eat at cons and already blacked out due to hunger and sweets at least keep you going until you find a place to get some real food^^

I love your advice!! This is really gonna help haha, I also have a kinda awkward question...so I know people ask a lot of people to take pictures because of their brilliant cosplay. Could you refuse sometimes? Because I know I'll be going somewhere and get stuck or something haha (tho I'll probably accept most of the time) and is it okay to pose with another cosplayer if u ask to take a picture if u took a cosplay too?? Aaah reminds me of my first convention... but I was 9 years old so I had to learn these tips over the years, by myself, since I didn't knew what was KZread xD

I’m gonna start cosplaying after dec and And I might be going to a con in April 2021 for a few hours with my mum or dad but I need to know how much it’ll cost how much do you think’ll cost :(?

I'm going to my first con this November 9th (my b-day is the 10th🙂🙂) and its already really cold out (Michigan weather), my friend and I are going as Monika and Sayori (so school girl outfits) should I bring a coat or do you think the blazer will be fine? You seem like you have better judgement than me :))))

I have long hair, but I would still recommend at least a stocking cap because wigs can get VERY itchy without one. Hope this helped!

I have heterochromria and I have light blue and a sliver eye so last time I went to a convention I got a lot of stares. It made me super uncomfortable.

Lol next morning wake up to Sebastian... Example but will not and is stupid anyways😂😂😂 Me: *wakes up sees/ thinks it's Sebastian M. Character* huh?.. Umm... "Eh..." *goes back to sleep* Lol jk
