Imo the big issue with international PLEs is that the crowds do NOT take well to heels winning big matches. The fact people got arrested outside the venue for fighting after clash 2024 related to arguing about the main event is insane.

There is something called "progressing a storyline" and a loss now might be a win later. Biggest example is Cody losing at WM39 and not finishing the story was a part of a greater storyline, and then when Cody did win, the positive emotion it generated was higher than if he won it a year earlier.

Interesting take. I felt like it was a mistake that they realized, because they didn’t continue the story over the next year so much as they just did it over again and changed the ending.
@TheShadowfist45

@@All5Horizonsnah they definitely always planned to have him take it, the only thing that threw a wrench in was the Rock finally being available, but the reason it wasn't carried through the entire year was because as we're seeing now they had other plans for the bloodline, and Roman probably needed a lot of that time to keep himself fresh enough for the big moment matches. Also, they seemed like they felt they had to give Cody a more clear aura and presence through his trials and tribulations outside of his feud with Roman. That part I disagree with though because his aura upon return was great, and only bolstered after the pec tear and following match and return.
Would've loved to see the utter chaos if Cena beat RVD at the first ECW one night stand.
Don't forget the Drunken Jeff Hardy incident in TNA Impact
The fans cheered when Brock won WM34. They 💩 on it during the match, partly because they thought it would be, "Roman wins lol. Why? Because 🖕🏼, that's why."

@cr5cc

I agree it was no way drew was winning because he would have to fight gunther and the only logical way around that match was punk interference
Full respect to Inoki for knowing how important it was to put Vader over that strongly in his debut; although, he probably thought his fans would have more decorum (especially in Japan) than THAT...
I was at Wrestlemania 34 & maaaan, the people were NOT happy with the main event, no matter what the outcome was.
God Vince got older and just decided he hated his own audience. He was AMUSED by everyone's reaction to the end of Murder Doink's and Seth's cell match?!?! I'm so glad he's gone

Dude. I always knew Zbyszko was older but I didn't realize he wrestled with Bruno, that's "Hella" old. 😄👍
Man, there’s two events that really pissed me off. 1. Victory road 2011. And the Royal rumble event where Brock Lesnar lost the WWE title due to Roman. Entered the rumble at 30 and won.
We American fans(the majority) liked the outcome of Priest vs. Drew.
I know the Flair in the DR story from Flair's 2005 HOF induction speech for Roddy Piper, who was there with him (instigating a riot on purpose, as expected); Flair never mentioned Veneno by name however, probably because he couldn't remember it...

Wait a minute Simon; what about Brock vs Taker from WM XXX? I don't think any modern match has P.O.'d fans more than THAT finish...
Roddy Piper vs. Chavo Guerrero. Piper tells the story in his autobiography. Piper had previously pissed off the fans with some... unsavory remarks about Mexico and Mexican people. He apologized and promised to learn to play the Mexican national anthem on his bagpipes and play it before their next match. So at the start of their next match, he made like he was going to do it, and then belted out "La Cucaracha" instead. Fans went apeshit and charged the ring. He and Guerrero had to keep punting people off the ring until police were able to escort them out.
@jasonbeyer4794

Two other memorable ones were the Lesnar/Goldberg match where neither clearly gave a damn about it, and Shawn Michaels trolling the Montreal crowd by teasing a fake Bret Hart return.
Philly fans will riot over anything. Flipping over police cars & setting thing on fire when your team wins a championship is the opposite of a celebration.
1:03 People had fights outside and just a little bit inside too
The new day can pull this off
Should have included Matt Cardona vs Nick Gage.
I agree but you should also include CM Punk screwing Drew McIntyre at WWE Wrestlemania 40 or XL because Drew McIntyre got his moment has 3x World Champion for 5 minutes :(
@MsIkon226
4 күн бұрын
I dont think that many people were that pissed about that outcome becuz Drew screwed himself by going over to mess with Punk, had he not done that, Punk may not have attacked him to a point where Damien could cash in on him. Just my view of the situation.
@kurtcrockenberg2476
3 күн бұрын
@@MsIkon226It still pissed some fans off me included because while Drew McIntyre may of rubbed it in and tauted CM Punk it ruined his moment because he was 3x World Champion for 5 minutes then the BS or Transitional Champion Damian Priest cashed in ruining his moment. Damian Priest's nicknames are hilarious 😂 though like Bisexual Undertaker and Bondage Undertaker.
The Wrestlemania match between Triple H and Booker T is one that pissed off people. With the controversial (and possibly racist) build up for the match, people expected Booker to win, and Triple H get his comeuppance, but instead Booker got buried.
I haven’t been so animated for a live show as when punk came running down as the ref and screwed drew. I’ve always kinda disliked him (sorry) so I was REALLY hoping he wouldn’t come down. Deep in my heart I knew he would. But I was still really upset in the moment. Now I think it’s more funny than anything and it’s only been like two weeks or something.
I was thinking Elimination Chamber 2023. The Quebecers were POd
But the stories that Phill and Drew are building us epic
Pushing Ryback too fast because they were in panic mode rather than protect his character and have a vet coach him for another year or so. So i guess th at one hell in the cell lol.
WWE never promised or advertised Daniel Bryan for the RR 2014. It was the fans who got the idea in their heads, so their fault. As for the booing, maybe they should have turned Rey heel after this and he attacks Daniel Bryan for being more popular than him.
For all the stories I heard about Sting gonna be the third man joining Holland Nash in the end of all I don’t think I could buy it. Like Sting was a WTW guy he made his bones there. His whole career was there. Hogan was the one just like Nash Hall that came from another company? I just wouldn’t be as believable. I’m glad they didn’t do that.
I’m not done with WWE. I’m not so angry that I hate the product, but the thing from Clash has put me on Drew’s side.
Makes sense
Simon, fans were not crying out for Roman to WIN in 2018; quite the opposite; Brock was just no better by then...
Number 11-9,999: WWE from like 2003-2023

If WWE had just changed the finish of Clash at the Castle 2024 and had Drew McIntyre win, even if CM Punk counted the 3 and then laid Drew McIntyre out with a GTS so as he can't celebrate the win, people would have been slightly more okay with the finish. I completely quit WWE after Clash at the Castle 2024.
The finger poke of doom
Why BanterTron? What happened to the MillerTron?
The only reason the tag titles changed hands was to please the fans Because they knew they were gonna screw them over on the woman's title and on the men's title
For me it was when Becky squashed Bianca. I still think Becky could of won by heel means in a longer match. I was so upset. I changed the channel and did not watch the rest of the PPV
So Japanese fans wanted Vader to look string, but Anoki to bury him too.

How about WM31 and the STING/hhh match? I guarantee you more than a couple of people rage quit wwe on the back of DX vs NWO. What?!?! DX makes sense. But the NWO helping their sworn blood enemy? Yes STING was in The Wolfpack NWO. But that's not what they wore to the ring. Had they had on the black and red, then it might have made more sense. But this was a Mongolian Clusterhump of the highest order. And more importantly, you bring in the biggest active non Stamford guy in the history of pro wrestling and he doesn't go over in his first (& now only) match in the Showcase Of The Immortals? How does that make ANY sense?
