    "He's a psychopath, if not a straight up sociopath." What does that mean? xD Those are two different things and usually a psychopath is "worse" than a sociopath

  • @ninjabaiano6092

    @ninjabaiano6092

    4 жыл бұрын

    Actually sociopath is worse. Its due to movies like hannibal that created this "baddass psycopaths" archtype. In real life sociopaths are much more likely be violent criminals. They usually are more unstable irritable incapable of planning, disfuncional and as such life very stressing lifes. It take a single bad day and they snap with violence. Psycopaths usually live a functional life and most of their crimes are more due to a lack of morality and seeing a advantage, like a corrupt cop accepting bribes to look away fron a crime.

  • @Nekufan1000000

    @Nekufan1000000

    4 жыл бұрын

    Actually, you've swapped the two. A sociopath is a person that can, in some instances, see the morality in doing something and choose not to, albeit a frail one. Psychopaths are the ones that feel no remorse for their deeds. Of course, both of these terms are no longer used by psychologists today as the difference between them is largely moot. They're both cases of the same mental disease, APD, or antisocial personality disorder.

  • @buttsagonton101

    @buttsagonton101

    4 жыл бұрын

    The main difference between them is that psychopaths are born that way. Sociopaths only become that way over time. So while it's easier to reason with a psycho,(at least from my experience) it's harder to reason with a sociopath because they usually have had some bad experience happen to them.

  • @marz881

    @@Nekufan1000000 nope, sociopathy is the lack of empathy and morality as well as most forms of emotion, psychopathy is the lack of morality and empathy, but usually have strong emotions otherwise, so one is indifferent about killing you and as such is more likely to do it without a second though, while the other is more likely to kill you over you slightly ticking them off

    personally I like the episode in Justice league unlimited where General Eiling goes on a rampage with the Blockbuster fomula and he stopped by an elderly African-American woman, who is quickly backed up by the rest of the city folk including children. Eiling had just taken down several (no superpowered) members of the JLA during a parade and was about to straight up kill one by crushing him under a car when she comes in, telling him to "drop the act!" After her speech to him, he then retorts with "I'm not the one to fear! Metahumans are! Superpowered beings!" At this, a kid no more than 11 yells "you're the only one here with superpowers!" This causes Eiling to stop, and look at who he'd just beaten up: Green and Red Arrow, Crimson Avenger, Stargirl and her step father, and Shining Knight. None of whom have powers but instead rely on magic items, technology, and the human spirit to fight crime. Now look at Eiling, in his big bad blockbuster form... This causes him to drop the car and admit that he'd become that he hates the most, but that "in the long run you'll see I'm right, you'll see that you need people like me to protect you from them!" He then storms off, leaving the heros to get medical attention.

    Assistant Editors' Month cross-company event for Marvel. Had some truly ludricrous pieces but my favorite was when several secord-stringer Avengers went on the David Letterman Show and the whole thing got gatecrashed by a tinkerer named Fabian. This was one of the crazy-prepared types and he'd rigged up countermeasures for all the scheduled heroes. Before some other title's hero could come in and rescue the situation, we got a fun one out of left field; Letterman checked with Fabian on how he was inside the force field enclosure the man had set up and, upon confirmation, promptly clocked the guy with the giant doorknob prop behind his desk.

    Can't believe you left out Aunt May completely owning Chameleon during Civil War/Unmasked. - Probably some Alfred or Jarvis examples one could make an argument for. - Honorable mention to the "unpowered" approach. Both Scott Lang and Eric Masterson topped the Absorbing Man (on separate occasions) by not having any special energy or material for Crusher to absorb.

    It's not a comic, but I want to give a shout out to "Joker's Favor" from Batman the Animated Series. Joker pushes a normal man around all episode, then in the end the guy has Joker at gunpoint as Joker begs Batman to save him. The punchline? It's actually one of Joker's own "Bang!" guns, so pulling the trigger only makes the little flag stick out.

    Charlie Collins : Batman: TAS; Joker's Favor. After a road rage incident on the Joker. Collins gives Joker his wallet. Which lets Joker know where he lives, and Collins ends up working for Joker. Treated as a punching bag for most of his life, he goes along with it, but he eventually snaps. Joker tries to escape from Collins, even going so far as to call Batman for help. Collins rubs it in even more, by saying how humiliated Joker will be when criminals find out that it wasn't Batman who took down the Joker, but an average person.
