My parents have taught me to put any coin (ever day) of my choice towards Sadaqah. I've chosen the UK 20p coin (26 cent usd) as the minimum and to give this sadaqah (charity) before every Islamic new year starts in Moharram. It helps me to live a content life and helps those in need 🤲

( Concluded from this video ) Doing anything righteous for the sake of God is considered Sadaqa for example smiling! Sadaqat Rulings ( Money ) :- Surah 9:103 - 104 1) Sadaqa is defined as kindness by giving money with the intention of seeking the pleasure of God - Qurabatan ilallah and this should be the general intention as intention is very important. 2) Mushtahab Sadaqa - Sadaqa e Imam e Zamana ajfs, other sadaqat like that we give and coins that we put aside. Wajib Sadaqa - Zakat, Fitra, Fidya, Kaffara. Mushtahab Sadaqa can be given to anyone i.e. there is no restriction of faith or denomination or background. Wajib Sadaqa must be given to believers only. Sayyid can give all forms of Sadaqa - Wajib or Mushtahab to Sayid or Non Sayyid. Non Sayyid can’t give Wajib Sadaqa to Sayid but can give Mushtahab Sadaqa to Sayyid but with a condition that it should not be belittling or causing humiliation to the Sayyid. 3) It’s better and more rewarding to give Sadaqa in private rather than in public, exception is if by doing so in public we have the intention of encouraging others. When you give Sadaqa to someone, you don’t need to tell them it’s Sadaqa, sometimes this helps the person to accept the money. 4) It’s better and much more rewarding to give Sadaqa to needy/poor person but can also be given to non needy. It is more rewarding to give Sadaqa to blood relatives than others. So if a blood relative is needy we should fulfill their needs and give them first. There are narrations from Ahlulbayt a.s. that if you have a relative who is upset with you but not needy you should give them Sadaqa to make them happy. 5) It’s makrooh/disliked to reject someone who has come to ask us for help even though we know that they may not be entitled or may not be poor. Allah swt will grant reward since if we do it for his sake, the act of Sadaqa is blessed and rewarding. 6) Once you give someone Sadaqa you can’t take it back or ask for it back. 7) Adaab/Etiquettes when giving Sadaqa : a) Not expecting thanks from the person, Not making false promises to people who ask, Not taking advantage of the poor and vulnerable. b) To give what we desire the most. c) Not to rebuke or say inappropriate words to people who ask. d) Kiss one's own hands after giving Sadaqa and not the hands of the person that we are actually giving. This was the practise of Imam Jafar e Sadiq a.s. according to a narration ⭐
