What about autonomous dump trucks entering the industry?

It will be very interesting to see how that would work. I can say that the dump truck industry is very different than over the road, where a semi is usually going to have one route or a destination set in place. I believe dumps trucks working locally will always need a driver that can communicate with whom ever is needing their service. Theres simply too many logistical factors that need to be accounted for, not mention all the different scenarios that play a role when you’re in the dump truck business.

We don’t own any trucks with autos, I have heard from several friends and a family member that own trucks with auto transmissions that allison is the way to go.
