10 Things You Must Do in Fernandina Beach & Amelia Island // Travel Guide 2022

Want to experience a Florida beach town with lots of history and plenty of cool things to do? One of our favorites is Fernandina Beach on Amelia Island.
A few minutes north of Jacksonville on the Florida Georgia line, this island is unique because it's the only place in America that has had eight different flags fly over it. Today, the community is a popular destination known for its grand Victorian-era houses and yearly shrimp festival.
In this video, we show you 10 things you must do in Fernandina Beach and Amelia Island.

My daughters, grand children and one daughter’s mother in law spent Mother”s Day weekend in Amelia Island. We stayed in a hotel in Fernandina but spent the beach day at American Beach. We loved it! Unspoiled, peaceful and built memories collecting sea shells with my 3 year old grandson. I live in Jax and make frequent trips to the area.

Nice tour. My wife and I visit as much as we can, since we live in Jacksonville. Jacksonville is not so interesting. But you might like Neptune Beach with a nice selection of restaurants, a block from the beach. San Marco and River Side are also worth a visit. Both close to downtown which you should avoid. But Amelia Island is the Gem. Try breakfast at Beach Diner on Amelia.
