TheGamer it wasn't a function of the gameboy advance, per se, but there was a gameboy advance game called "Boktai The Sun Is In Your Hands" that had a light sensor on the cartridge, that uses the light to charge your solar gun, and too much could overheat it.

I kind of feel like the TV tuner is legit. It connects just like a GBA cartridge does and has its own built-in programming just like cartridges do. I have a Sega Game Gear and I use it mainly for the TV tuner lol

4:52 headphone port? ok first of its called headphone jack, second off, THE GBA SP does not have one, meaning that you most likely connect the speakers through the AC adapter or the part where you link other Game boy advances

The GBA could *never* do any of this. It was the add on's that made it possible.

1. Navigate around town? that is an interesting add-on to the gba. 2. Heart measuring device, looks like engineers found a low cost way of making the heart measuring device. 3. Tv tuner and the other things are also interesting including the wireless piece and the ereader.

I've got the GBA Movie Player, and it's also great for playing NES/Famicom games. I'm really surprised about the medical device.

i used to have an oscilloscope on a GB color. (used for hobby electronics) was much cheaper and more portable than an actual o-scope. but not as much functionality. worked for what i needed plus i could still play games!

Oh hey I have one of those GBA compact flash movie players, they were awesome- I had episodes of family guy and NES games on my DS thanks to it, it was baller.

I'm a huge fan of the weight distribution of the sp models. Not very aerodynamic, but the compact design makes it fit nicely in my hand. It's pretty tough too. 😃

Oh, so wait; the Mario Odyssey port to GBA is more than a rumor? lol Not that it garners my interest anymore than the original game does though... (yeah I know that it is fake; jeez...) Probably my favorite GBA/SP feature is the multi-link capabilities, even if the number of available games for 3+ player gameplay was less than twenty altogether...

That 10 minute video with all those ads, good job

The Gameboy Advance SP can actually change color pallets but only for Gameboy Games like Tetris. Heres how and what happens! Left is Blue Up is Red Right is Green Down is Yellow Holding B and Down makes the Gameboy text Black and the screen Gold in coloration Holding B and Left makes the Gameboy text Black and the screen Gray in coloration or in this case, its like playing on an emulator with just black and white. Holding B and Right totally inverts the color pallet, making White background colors Black for example, making Red become Blue, so to speak. Holding B and Up makes the screen text brown, Sepia if you will Holding A and Up makes everything red, as if the entire game was coated in Ketchup or for horror lovers, BLOOD holding A and Left makes everything Blue as if the moon was shining on it Holding A and Right makes the Gamebox text Blue but the screen Green, as seen with Golf on Gameboy for example And finally, Holding A and down only makes it have a slightly more vibrant normal Gameboy color pallete as this seems to brighten it a bit

I'l tell you one thing it could do. Take a beating. Dropped mine down a set of cement stairs and it took a chunk out of the front. Still works over 13 years later without a scratch on the screen.

I still have my e-Reader and about 50 cards, including the ultra-rare Eon Ticket. I keep them in cards sleeves, which can pass through the e-Reader and protects them from wear.

"Watch live TV" Pffff, you could do this with the Sega Game Gear back in like 1995...

Too bad it flopped before the cards for the Pokémon games could be released in the West. Among other things, Altering Cave will forever be nothing more than a huge Zubat nest in the Western versions of FireRed/LeafGreen.

Hmm, didn't know my GBA could play the case art for Super Mario Odyssey. I'll have to give that one a try

There was also a mp3 recorder for the GBA wich allowed you to record audio tracks from external sources such as a cd player etc,,, to your gba, There was also the gba mini camera wich allowed you to shoot 26 fotos on your gba. There was also a gba telephone wich allowed you to make phone calls with your friends using this phone adaptor and you could even see them if they owned one too. There was also a gba network adaptor wich allowed you to play games onlines including mariokart super cirquit. Am haven’t talked about the gba av adaptor sothat you could hookup your dvd player or whatever to your gba.

You can connect it with the switch by plugging in the GameCube controller adapter to the USB port on the dock because you can connect it with the GameCube with the game boy advance cable too on the controller port

Idk y so many people seem to like touch screens so much! I hate em! Not only do I miss the accuracy of typing on a real keyboard that never glitch typed duplicate &/or random letters and symbols, but I also hate finger prints and such on my screen!

Just for reference the TV Tuner with the exception of RCA, is mostly useless. With the transition to Digital, the Antenna on them have become about as useless as those big portable TVs that are now just giant FM radios.

Great video, I barely knew any of these.

Not only did the E-reader not catch on, but none of them contained full games, just extra levels for the few you mentioned. The support was very limited in North America and was considered a failure here...
