10 Things You Didn't Know: CHUNK! NO, CAPTAIN CHUNK!
Ойын-сауық
In this episode of "10 Things You Didn't Know," APTV talks to members of Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! and learn some lesser-known facts about their history.
For example, the band's name comes from a line in The Goonies, which Paul C. Wilson says is one of the band's favorite movies. As for the name of their album Pardon My French, the band's 2013 release, bassist Mathias Rigal says he got it from speaking to Miss May I's Justin Aufdenkampe on Warped Tour. Aufdenkampe explained the meaning behind the phrase to Rigal. "After that, I came back to the band," says Rigal. "We decided to pick that phrase for the album."
Singer Bert Poncet recalls when the band's van was stolen on their first tour. "That was a very tough time. We still managed to play the shows, and people were very, very kind," he says. "We got a lot of donations from fans. It was tough, but still a very good experience."
Guitarist Eric Poncet talks about studying law at university. "Now, we're touring and being homeless people on the road," he says, laughing. "That's what we like, actually."

the fact that the first album was a joke makes me realise why it's my favorite by them 😂
Law degrees, check! Stolen van, check! Bassist in prison, check! Held at gunpoint, check! Accidental fame, check!
So weird knowing this band since 2009 being a tiny, unknown band, now they're getting quite big!

I'm suprised these guys haven't released an album in French. Most French artists apart from Daft Punk would sing in their own language

They said they didn't really develop a fan base in France but they did in the US and parts of Asia so they decided English was the way to go

English is the international lanuguage of Metal. It's a language most countries know at least a little bit, so it's the one to use if you wanna have a better shot at a world-wide fan-base.

what they lost their van at Milano? that samething happened with Miss may I! but the only difference is... they decided to continue whereas Miss may I is not even sure to continue as a band!
I remember going to in friends we trust the video and seeing so much hate spewing on how trash this band is. I also remember laughing way too hard at the line "Hey dudes are you ready too?!" Then when he said #1 it finally made sense lmao

4:56 so he's saying the lyrics for Jose Massacre are from a magazine? wew. XD
Holy shit, wouldn't have thought this guy had this accent. I noticed a little how he forced the pronunciation of the chorus on All Star so I had to look up an interview
Are there a lot of dudes with the last name Wilson in France?
Wow, I didn’t know Drake Bell had a French accent and went by “Bert Poncet”
C'est déjà assez marrant de savoir qu'ils sont Français xD
