exactly. smackdown ruined so many guys because shane mcmahon + kevin dunn is NOT a good team. Kevin can give people chances that vince cant but when it comes to big shows like ppv he will take too many risks and end up with ellsworth as miss money in the bank ffs. Finally somebody else that hasn't forgotten that! Balor was the best NXT champion so far and few will be able to top his run in the future, I'd say either Drew McIntyre or Aleister Black. Also, perhaps Zayn could have had an even better run that Balor but we both know what happened to his reign.

NirvanaFrk97 Neville was champion all through its rise from obscurity to being a highly buzzed about show. I think he and Finn both deserve a lot of credit as champions who elevated NXT, as well as Charlotte, Sasha, and Bayley as Women's Champions.

NirvanaFrk97 nah you're a Finn mark bro lmao. He was champion at its peak ok sure... But if it wasn't for what Bo Dallas and Neville did.. If it wasn't for Tyler Black and Bray Wyatt and if it wasn't for guys like Samoa Joe, Nakamura, Bobby Roode etc. coming in with all of their hype and putting that title over it just wouldn't be where it's at. Honestly I felt like Finn was also wasted with his title push. It wasn't long because of injury and we all knew when he would win and lose because we knew they wanted him main roster. So Idno I disagree. Kevin Owens I think did more for NXT and the NXT brand by showing up on RAW and whooping Cena while holding the NXT belt and stepping on the U.S. Title.

Hi 2017 this is 2022, just came here to say that keep watching NXT because it's gonna reach unreasonable heights and have some the best wrestling / storylines / matches / superstars in the world, right until its climactic end in August 2021 with NXT TakeOver 36, then some multi color looking crap will replace it but ignore that show, we won't talk about that show. Just go and enjoy NXT for what it is, one of the best wrestling brands in the world.

I still feel so bad for the Ascension. Admittedly, I'd never seen them on NXT but I had heard lots about them before they debuted on Raw. I personally liked their look, the whole "illuminati' thing and the absurdly deep voices they spoke with. What I didn't like was how when they debuted and started doing the typical heel tag team spiel of "We're better than every tag team that's ever existed, ever" the person that took offense to that was JBL - the HEEL commentator that's supposed to root for the HEEL wrestlers. Then took to the mic in subsequent weeks to verbally BURY them before all those old-school wrestlers, including the APA, showed up to bury them in the ring as well. The sadder part to me was that this happened in 2015. Fast forward two YEARS later when people have gotten over what happened to them and potentially start them with a clean slate. In what should've been the Ascension's redemption at Elimination Chamber, they were all but GUARANTEED a free victory after being the final tag team to enter the match and facing off against American Alpha who had just gotten the crap beat out of them for like five minutes by the Uso's. NOPE! The Ascension still lose, they're still buried and it makes them continue to look like a total joke over two years after they debuted. Great job, Vince. Great job.

There were only NXT champs for so long because there wasn't much of a tag team at that point. They came around just after the Wyatt Family were called up and they only ever seemed to face jobbers. I honestly said even when they were in NXT that the gimmicks going to fail. Connor isn't a good worker and Victor isn't big enough.

Number 1: Paige was the first NXT women's Champion, and uh yeah, that poor belt.....

the biggest problem with NXT now is that there's no reason to watch the episodes on Wednesday anymore, its basically filler till the next takeover event with no storyline progression, title matches, or anything. in 2014-2015, you were guaranteed a great match, or a title match, or a great promo, or a great segment, but now you rarely see the champions compete and when you do its a squash match, tell me the last time you saw a great match on NXT TV (Prior to Asuka v Ruby v Nikki and Ohno vs Black)? it gotten to the point where you can watch nothing but Takeovers and not miss anything significant

Yeah. Especially within the last year or two, new talent has had a hard time getting over when a bunch of Indy guys are pretty much given a title run within a year or two. That's why Aska has been Champion for so long. After the draft over a year ago, only now has there actually been someone who seems like a threat, and even still she has to act cocky and agrogant to give the others a chance.

All you commenting "Give Shane control of WWE" should know that Shane is just an onscreen character right? He has no control behind the scenes. Triple H should be in charge. He might actually use the talent correctly.

She admitted that all the charity WWE does is just to look good, she once compared 9/11 to the steroid trial, constantly slaps and verbally castrates the wrestlers and maybe once a year gets retribution making everyone look weak faces, heels, men and women. She was also responsible for Heyman quiting booking. HHH is a good boss but he has got a ego ( Raw in the early 2000s)

Lets not forget Kaval AKA Low Ki winning the first NXT competition then going on to become a superstar on Smackdown, and by Superstar I mean getting shat on by Everyone (Commentary continuously commenting on his smaller size, booking him to lose all the time, and even some of the smark fanboys would hold signs that read "go back to TNA") it seemed like Management wanted to punish him just for being previously associated with TNA... and now ironically NXT has made a habit of hiring former TNA/Impact wrestling talent (Eric Young, Samoa Joe, Bobby Roode, James Storm was there for like 5 minutes, and Drew Galloway just to name a few)

+Telepathic Cupcakes is correct. It stands for "Next" as in the "Next Generation of Superstars" because after Cena, Orton and the rest of the Ruthless Aggression and late attitude era guys retire the NXT stars are just that, the "Next" stars of the WWE main event scene

Jaime Moyano Evidently you don't pay attention. Using her inability to articulate as well as someone who grew up speaking English, is actually just petty and ignorant. Which, for the record, she does know how to speak English. If you hadn't noticed, all the Japanese wrestlers do, but not all of them are required to cut those 10 minute promos. Asuka is being treated as the biggest female heel in memory, so why would she need to talk when she can just beat the shit out of somebody instead?

Don't read the comments. It's full of internet wanna-be-insiders making NXT out to be some sorta godly show. Some of these dumbasses think guys like Balor and Nakamura are better than guys like Cena or Strowman.

maybe if wwe was ROH, NJPW, or even NXT. They're great wrestlers, but average sports entertainers. Few guys are both (AJ and Jeff Hardy being the best examples).
