Trading Post: The answer in the video is correct, but there's more to it. If you have opened up a trade route, you don't need a worker to export or import, however, if the item that is to be exported is in a storehouse or granary, you need a worker in the Trade Post to fetch that item. So if the item is already in the trade post, a trader can get it from there. I also, if my memory isn't failing me, the workers on the Trade Post also uses hand carts, so if you're exporting large quantities of goods from your storage, you should put workers in there.

2nd ox: quite literary the first thing I click in a new town to allow for travel time. The 2nd hitching post not being build won't be a problem for some time as both oxen will be in constant use. But, after the very first phase of the game, say when you have 5 houses, you need to have 2 free familys or check at least one of the oxen is on a hitchingpost before you go down to 1 free family. Otherwise the ox that was in use by the family that is now assinged will run away instantly. Ruind quite a few starts for me by now.

The key to markets is building your house plots away from your market. The higher the level of houses the closer to the market. Not getting enough food to your last houses can be 1 of 2 problems, 1 not enough market stands to put enough supplies out to distribute to everyone, or 2 you don’t have enough supplies.

Great stuff! Stuff I wish I knew: 1) you don't need more then 3 market stalls for a small/medium town. Don't waste your people having a huge marketplace at the start. You can always create more space, but you can't stop them from creating new shops. 2) if you are not manually assigning each "person" (3 people, but you can only assign the "leader"), you will be super inefficient and you will get bottlenecks as you grow. Everything works fine without this micro but eventually you will probably run into issues. 2b) veg farms require sowing + harvesting for 1-2months? (plot size/shape?) - this their priority. They will not work other assigned jobs. (ex. my farmhouse workers lived in veg homes. They are suppose to harvest in Sept, but my dudes were sowing their veg backyards...). My solution was to put chicken house people in to farmhouse - so far no issues. 3) Backlogs are caused by families having to many "functions" for 1 day: 3a) Every person in a family have base functions that use up time (sleep, church, water, resting, sick, ++). 3b) Most "jobs" in a building have functions - ex. logging camp has debranching, transporting, etc. 3c) market place shops are not a job, but add more functions to a family (stock shops, peddle shop) 3d) plot types (veg, +others?) add functions to the families 3e) storage and the workers are a premium. Having more then 1 storage, with stock specialization is the key (you don't want 1 large storage gathering everything). (I had a 20+ people backlog in a storage house, because the 4 families were also marketplace stalls; they had no time to go grab stock from all over map + stock marketplace + functions.) Stuff I really want to know: * Marketplace shops/stalls - how are they filled, per stall? (ex. 1 food stall, how does that family get the food into it). I've had issues that I've had plenty of food (based on the top bar food section), but the stalls are near empty or only 1 type remaining. (Real question: how to easily and efficiently maintain 4 food types for an area) * Marketplace spreads mechanic - how far do they cover? what about different areas? how big should they be? (3 stalls? 100 stalls? what is the difference)

Actually the distance from the marketplace to the houses doesn't matter, is just the quantity available and if it's less than the required is going to fill the nearest houses by priority.

So, my marketplace (1 food/clothing/firewood stal) can reside on the right side of my area/region and then have my housing on left side off area/region? (40-50 morgan plots away). Quantity available? I guess just looking at the tool bar at top?

Don't get yourself "another ox ASAP" if you have just one hitching post like at the start of a game. It could just run away and you lose all the money! Never get more oxen than you have stable place!

Tip # 11 When starting your town and you start placing your Burgage plots only place 4,{ or 2 with expansions lots}, after these are built they will automatically fill with 4 family from the tent settlement, leave 1 family there, Then Upgrade your tent settlement for 1 log and it will now slowly fill with 4 more family's + the 1 family equaling 5 , it wont disappear and will remain there even when you build more Burgage plots just satisfy there needs, You can now assign the new tent family's anyway you like.

The plot pantry not getting emptied before it reached max cap is actually a bug. also the cart workers are supposed to transport 10 units of the goods but on apples and veggies they are different somehow i think thats a bug too. cart workes take only 2 carrots and 5 apples from the pantry, call it a day and repeat it the next working cycle. the apples also wont get picked up until the pantry is maxed out. wich is just stupid because everything above pantry limit can be damaged and the good in the panrty are ignored by the workers. so i think those are bugs. also i think market stall families should put more than bare minimum into the stalls to allow for some breathing room and expanding. as soon as 1 family takes a firewood and the workers is busy it says not enough firewood. thats just stupid. i hope it gets fixed soon because i freaking love the game so much!

Another quick tip. There seems to be a bug with the berries. As long as you continue to harvest them while they are growing they never stop. With 3 families on berries and 1 in a near by in a granary you can easily fill the small granary in one season with 500 berries. Just put the families in the forager as soon as March starts and take them off in July.

To clarify about the marketstalls, do I understand correctly that the people assigned to the storehouses carry goods to EVERY market stall, not just the ones their family runs? Or another way to phrase it, adding people to your storehouse/granary won't cause NEW stalls to open, but it will restock the EXISTING stalls faster?

Also if you notice that bought a trade route and flipped it to export and notice that the export isnt selling and you still have say 30 Warbows its because they are too heavy to be lifted to the trade post but once you put a worker in the trade post and click on the tab and assign a horse or ox to the tradepost the animal will then transport the heavy items to the trade post and sell it. I noticed it when i had 50 military items and they wouldn't sell for 2 months and thought wtf then i did that and it fixed and sold.

Great explanation about how things work! Except your last point. Food is not brought to the houses, it just magically appears there! It was pointed out by TactiCat and I observed the same then, TactiCat works closely with Strat Gaming, both are diving deep into the game mechanics (Strat Gaming Guides is actually featuring your channel Flesson19, in case you didn't know). TactiCat has just had a live stream about markets and according to his observations and play testing the whole food distribution system is quite convoluted. I highly recommend that you watch his video(s), if you have the time, as it's too difficult for me to explain it, but based on my own and other players observations, TactiCat is correct in what he's found out about how markets work (at the moment) in Manor Lords and that it doesn't make a lot of sense how they work,

@@Dunleap Not everybody knows, that, when you place your trading post near the edge of the map where the traders come from, it speeds up trading. I only found out about it yesterday watching a video of Strat Gaming. You should have mentioned this vital information. Workers assigned to the trading post do trade as well and with horses they can move higher quantities. If your trading post is not placed near the edge then you'll notice the difference. There's also the issue, that, if the trading post is not placed along the King's road, traders might not show up. This seems to be a bug as it's not to happening every time as far as I can tell.
