*Pain of regret is so much worse than the pain of discipline.*
You’re so inspiring Maya. I’m glad you opened up about nearly everything from academics to phsio and your priorities. You definitely helped me even though I’m in community college.
I am French and I live in Toulouse, I am watching your video to learn English. I understand almost everything but I help myself with the subtitles. Keep on going !
This video is literally so informative!! I'm so proud of you Maya, you're doing great at college. I'm an international student, Harvard is my dream school and I'll be applying next year. Hope I get in

How will it come about?
One day I make reals with you dear ❤️
you wrote in your college application essay that no one has ever accepted you for you even when you got into a top high school and surrounded yourself with people who had a love for learning like you and now you're saying that even at harvard people don't accept you. have you ever thought that maybe it's a you problem? or maybe they just don't vibe with your personality. not everything is related to your cultural background. the reality is none of us are that special. we're all simply just people going through the journey that which is life

@@elianahofor2226 she seems to have a superiority complex. the reality is she's not that special (and neither is anyone else btw). she doesn't take responsibility for the fact that it could be a flaw within herself that affects her not being accepted by others. not everything is related to your cultural background. she's using her race as a crutch instead of recognizing the fact that she hasn't been accepted her entire life and now that she's at a top university with students from all over the world coming from varying backgrounds and she still doesn't feel accepted by others; that's a 'you' problem. maybe people just don't like her personality. maybe she comes across conceited and disingenuous. maybe she's just not very nice so people don't want to befriend her. gen z is the most accepting generation yet and she's surrounded by them and people of so many various backgrounds at a top university in the world so it's wild to blame everything on her race instead of doing some self introspection

@@bebeerin you see that’s where your wrong, being a black person myself I know exactly where she is coming from, people pre-judging you, setting you out as an outcast, which is actually quite common when your black. And if you ever actually spent time and watched other Harvard videos of any kind then you can see the segregation such as in interviewing Harvard students videos you can see from the groups they are in, the complete outcasting of any race and honestly it’s terrible but that’s when you have to make due with who you surround yourself with. She has worked incredibly hard if you have watched her other videos you will see, and she has an amazing group of friends who accept her for her. She is not using her race as an excuse or a tool, in fact she is working hard to get what she deserves. She did so many extra curricula’s and excelled in most of her papers, she mentioned race once to show how it affected her and how she didn’t let it once stop her from working hard and doing well. Byeee xx

@@elianahofor2226 im not denying the existence of racial discrimination at elite universities or throughout the us. minorities and people in marginalized groups have always faced this including myself. however, in this video and others she comes across as if her not fitting in and not being accepted by others is all bc of race. no ma’am. she got to where she is despite adversity but continues to use race as a crutch and as the sole reason she doesn’t “fit in”. like no you’re in such a privileged position and there are so many contributing factors to why people may feel how they feel

@@bebeerin Babe you are continuously proving my point to be honest I can’t believe I’m talking a to white person who is just upset they have no chance for an Ivy League and is making race such a ‘bad’ aspect to getting in to a school, have a good day
