Brett, thanks for the info. I live in Portland and I know exactly what you’re talking about with the homeless situation. I’m on the west side in a pretty decent neighborhood so things aren’t too bad. I fell in love with a Medford girl, so I live in Medford as many days a month as I can get away with. ideally a couple of weeks a month. I’m getting a contractor license, which means having tools in a work van and everything. I’m still learning my way around here and I really didn’t know the areas to avoid but I will get a map and listen to your videos and really keep an eye on things. My girlfriend always wants to be real quick about opening the garage door. I’ve seen people bicycling by.

I’ll be in Medford and surrounding area next week, can’t wait! Haven’t been since 2019

I like visiting medford, im born and raised in East Los Angeles. My wife's family moved from the San fernando valley to that area in the 80s. We go up there up 4 times a year. Her family mostly live in Phoenix up in the hills, that area is beautiful. The things i always do when I go up there is to get a big BBQ plate at Sweet Tea Express and then walk over to Black Birds and buy things I don't need lol.

Blackbird is a great at doing that haha! Next time your in town there is a great BBQ place out in Shady Cove might be the best BBQ in the valley. I can't remember the name off the top of my head but it's out past Shady Cove Market.

It's too freaking hot in the summer. Thank goodness for the rogue river. It is nice and cold. Didn't mind living there though. Lots to do if you like hiking, camping, hunting, fishing.....outdoor stuff. I was there for about 20 years. My kids still live and work there. I did not live "in" Medford. I lived in Eagle Point and I will eventually go back.

There's a bike riding trail by the Bear Creek bridge, off McAndrews, it's a great view.

Great video! My wife and I moved from the Detroit area to Sam's Valley 4 years ago, and our main reason was the hiking and camping opportunities. There are some great spots in Michigan as well, but a lot of driving was involved, and the window for camping in decent weather was short. Another great thing about the area is that it doesn't get super cold, and snow usually isn't much of an issue in comparison to northern states. I personally recommend Portal Brewing as well. It's not a very popular place, their menu is small, but their food is fantastic and they have a unique selection of beers. GoldRush Cider Mill has bomb ciders, but they're only open from Thursday to Saturday. No kitchen, but they usually have a food truck there. Like you said, Jaspers Cafe is a great restaurant. Hands-down the best burgers in the area, and plenty of outside seating.

Portal is great! They have a really good peanut butter porter.

I loved bear creek park as a kid, we called it castle park. I was sad when they remodeled, but it's super nice & my little one loves it

Getting ready to take a travel nurse assignment in Medford. Looking at housing and was hoping for some ideas on quiet safe neighborhoods to look for to try to rent? Areas to stay away from when trying to be in a safe location? Thanks!

Avoid the west side of Medford. East side, away from I5 is good. There are decent apartments along Barnett near RVMC.

Public transportation in Southern Oregon is subpar. Very skeleton routes and a lot of budget cutbacks.

I live in Western Kentucky… wanting to move out to the west coast. Northern California Southern Oregon. How easy is it to get a job and what is the average hourly pay around the area you live?

Currently it's very easy to get a job. Every place seems to be hiring. The average wage I am seeing is between 13-17 an hour.

If you like pizza and beer you can't forget about Wild River.

Born and raised in Medford.. I love the country part of Jackson County and if I could afford it I would be having a place out in the country instead of living in the smack dab in the middle of town.

I lived in Medford for I don't know maybe 6 years or more I live in yreka now unfortunately. The gun laws in the weed laws were great. The cops kind of sucked as far as infringement on rights somebody needs to start a Medford Oregon transparency. Other than that it's not bad there's jobs and shit
