My husband and I call it the egg song, lol.
Hello, I'm a professor of medicine. Teaching all day long, it is so nice. So relaxing to come home and listen to you. You are so knowledgeable, thank you for the information! Please keep it up, I love your passion for something you hold dear.😊

I’m here for the same reason. Not a medical professor though 😅
I think that it's so amazing all that you have learned and shown us!
I started chicken keeping last year and I love it! They give me so much joy, they eat all the bugs in my backyard, they are super funny , sweet, they give me compost (poop) and lots of eggs ❤

They are so much fun!!
Great tips. And yes they grow quick!!! LOL Also slippery slope. We started with 6, went up to 8, down to 4, back up to 10, and have 3 more on order this spring... And we added an extension on to the coop. LOL But oh so much fun!

Great job Bre!💛 Thankyou so much for your honest sharing. Im taking notes for the future! I’m doing my first large grow this summer. I wish I could also start chickens but, I rent while my son still has two years of School left, THEN I can start off grid on my land in Maine! 🙌🍀🌞!

No problem!!
Have you thought of getting a few quails to add or you think the coop would be over crowded?! I hear quail eggs are phenomenal.
Would you please link the nesting pads you use?❤
Do you have a link to your non electric netting?

Love your videos Bre!! I am interested in building a chicken coop and starting my own backyard garden and recently found your channel, thanks for sharing all your knowledge and experiences (good and bad!). I don’t have any friends who do backyard homesteading so I am learning so much from you! I have a question about keeping chickens, sorry if you mentioned it and I missed it, but I’m wondering if you’ve had to deal with any predators (especially snakes) and if so, how did you handle that?? I’m working on plans for my coop and want to be sure to account for predators (also I am low key terrified of opening up the nesting box and finding a snake!!😂😂) and was wondering if you had any advice.

We don't have to many issues here with predators being so far into the city. Ive had some raccoons and possums hang around the coop at night before but other then that I haven't had anything. We have motion lights that tend to scare them away pretty fast. Thanks for watching and best of luck starting everything!!

Thanks!! Yeah we recently had to put bungee cords on our trash bins bc of a raccoon! Definitely excited to try out having chickens, hopefully we won’t have any issues with snakes 🙏🏻🙏🏻
My HOA won't allow chickens but my husband and I might get quall. I had chickens before and ended up with a bad winter that starved them because they refused to eat so one died. I also, had a baby possum in the coop one night because my son forgot to close the the chicken run door hatch.

I love my house and neighborhood BUT it's an HOA and I can't have chickens 😭 Considering moving if I get the chance just to be able to have chickens & other farm animals ❤️

Kansas. It was a random dip in December. We typically don’t get that cold.
Make the coop before you get the chicks... 👀 Oops? 😂 They are a month old now, and we really do need to get the coop done ASAP. The hardest part seems like it will be predator proofing. Chicken math took over for us before we even got them. We couldn't be sure they would all live, so we should get more than we want. We want silkies to brood quail eggs, and so we should get extra of those since they are straight run... We have fourteen thriving birds, five of which are silkies, and it will be months before we know what we have there.
