I'm always keen to find the local salt and vinegar chips, so if you stumble upon those I'd love to hear what you both think of them :)

I like Big Sheet, very tasty and one of my regular snacks when I'm in Thailand.. The Squid Seafood (Bento) is nice too and also one of my regular snacks. Terrible smell but I like it. If you have time, go to Wat Saman Rattanaram Temple (please google). I think it's 100km from Bangkok and you should be able to find a group tour or book a private tour. The place is not too big and has a reclining Pink Elephant as the main deity. You can feed some fish, have a meal and toss coins into a small dish. I went once and enjoyed. Also hit up Chatuchak Market (please google) in Bangkok. It's big with a large selection of food and goods. There is a stall which was sold duck noodle soup for about 50 baht which was delicious! Get there early, maybe 10/11 am and you can enjoy as later in the day more people arrive and it can get crowded. Enjoy your trip! Oh! Check your map. There is a park down from the market which has a butterfly house which is pretty cool. It's not very big but I enjoyed it. Also in the park, there is a bicycle rental place. The downside is that it's a long walk from the entrance you'll use from Chatuchak Market. Anyway, the combo of Chatuchak Market and the butterfly house makes for a nice day out.
