Salah Zaki people in Morocco are like westerners, “open-minded people” while still deeply retaining their ethnicity, cultural & religious values, well engrained as is with their Berber Nation. They are very accepting of other cultures, other religions and other races and they treat them with respect. This is the only “Arab” country that has this unique combination. Morocco is Ranked in the top countries as one of the most safe and friendliest countries in the world. So generally speaking as a person who has traveled the world, I consider Moroccans lovely and friendly. As a foreigner I am sure I may have been treated exceptionally beyond the local treatment but Also as a foreigner to other countries that I’ve traveled to, I am able to see and compare with my own eyes how they treat each other amongst themselves too.

"Amazigh" is not another word, it is the real one. The world "berber" came from the frensh colonialism where they called "Amazigh" people "Barbare", a word that alludes to "savage people". "Berber" is not a good word to name the "Amazigh" people.

To the best of my knowledge, the etymology of the noun "Berber" comes from the Latin word "barbarus" which comes from the ancient Greek "barbaros". Both Latin and Greek words used to name anyone that would not belong to their people, meaning, in fact, "foreigners". So, in ancient Greece and in the Roman Empire, a "barbarus" was anything but a citizen. The French used to name most of North Africa the "Barbary" (la Barbarie) well before they got hold of it by means of colonisation. So, they [the French] used to name the people of North Africa "les Berbères" (the Berbers, the inhabitants of the Barbary - as opposed to the Arabs - the inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula). It is thought that they took the noun "Berber" from the Moroccan Historian Ibn Khaldoun who was the first to describe the people of North Africa in a sociological way and used the noun "barâbir" (in Arabic) , which he'd taken from the Romans themselves and translated from "barbarus", although not meaning "barbarians". Hence the French calling the Amazigh people "Berber" with, however, a pejorative connotation, as you may know, due to colonisation and the idea of bringing "civilization" to the region... But it's important to know that "Berber" is completely different from "barbarian".

Just a correction please. I am an amazigh woman and we should be called as so. Because "berber" is a term used by white people back in the days that comes from "Barbare" that means uncivilized people basically. So it's amazigh and not berber, amazigh by the way means literally "free man" because we were nomades and it represents liberty to us. Thank you

some more facts -Morocco has quite a few snow cities too that look like Switzerland. Morocco has one of the coldest climates on averages in Africa along with Algeria Tunisia and South Africa. In the Moroccan sub-Alpine region it holds around - 10 C -22 C, on average during winter seasons. The lowest temperature measured within Africa was −24 °C (−11 °F) at Ifrane, Morocco. That holds for the coldest temperature in Africa. Bear in mind, that -24c is a little colder than -24c in Sweden. Morocco has the most instagramable city in the world: which is Chefchaouen town, they call it: The Blue Pearl. Morocco established the golden age in Spain in Andalusia during the Andalusian era several hundred years ago and helped to awake Europe from their barbaric dark age period. all that knowledge from the Moroccan Islamic Andalusian Berber empire (the moors, shared their knowledge of science, technology with Europe, which helped Europe to Awaken up to world science and technology and tolerance and democracy in Europe, is what ended their dark age period, which in turn helped them rise up to power, especially in the Iberian peninsula from where it started when the two newly formed nation ( Spain and Portugal ) eventually became the new superpower Simply because the Moors showed them how, after when two new countries in the Iberian got unlighted by the gifts from the Islamic moor empire, by teaching them science and sharing new engineering skills and technology with them, the gift that the Moors gave to Europe. And as a result, they became the superpowers. and normally this knowledge jumps the frontiers to France and England yeah the same story again. -Morocco is a reason for entering Arabic numbers into Europe. The founding of the state of Morocco was founded in the year 788. -Morocco used to be one of the most powerful kingdoms in the past, back in history up to 1492. with its, the Andalusia civilization, and was always tolerant back then just as it is still tolerant today. Morocco today is still known to be a very tolerant country. Spain and Portugal's land (Iberia) used to be part of the Moroccan empire for 700 years before it finally left in 1492. due to huge economical problems, those 2 names of Iberian countries (Spain/Portugal) didn't exist back then, as it wasn't/hasn't even been created yet until after that date. All that famous monuments and ruins in Spain like Alhambra palace, mosque-cathedral la Giralda or mosque-cathedral of Cordoba are built by the Moroccan emperor ( Khalifa). for example, only Alhambra palace bring 2 million visitors per year, and it took around 150 years to build -Morocco is just 13.8 km from Spain, not to mention, you can literally see Spain on the other side From Moroccan coastal mainland from Tanger city to Ceuta, just with your own naked eyes. without the need of using binocular. and yes you can, it's not a joke lol . - -Morocco has one of the richest and diversifies cultures in the world like three civilizations mixed in one :) the same for nature, its natural landscapes, and climates. climate and nature are very diverse and mixed, it's like 4 continents rolled into one and you can see all 4 seasons in 24h by your car tour. you can do ice skating in cities in elevated regions, or also snowboarding, and snow skiing in the Atlas alps high The mountains in the summer, while visiting the beach sane day for surfing, or sunbathing or beach volley, during the lunchtime, while hiking in the rugged forest terrain in the evening, canoeing in the river, while later on same day visiting the sand dunes of the red Sahara desert at night to experience a thousand and night and riding a camel. In the far south of Sahara. -the secret service of Morocco is the third-best secret service in the world. they work with the same technique of CIA. - Morocco has the Atlantic coast and the Mediterranean coast -Morocco together with France and Spain are the only 3 countries that have both the Mediterranean sea and the Atlantic ocean. these 3 countries are the only ones who have both. -Morocco has a 2945km long coast, that stretches from the north on the Mediterranean sea, all the way down to the Saharan desert on the Atlantic coast. -Morocco is the only MENA country with the coast ( entire Atlantic coast) that has a front sea face to face to the USA, from Khenitra, Rabat to Dakhla. while the Moroccan Mediterranean coast on the other hand faces directly to Spain and Portugal. from Tanger to Nador, Ouijda. -Moroccan people are the second most welcoming people in the world According to the International Organization. -The Kingdom of Morocco is one of the most peaceful and beautiful civilization today. despite its low economical level. the first man to invent worlds first flying the machine that worked, based on the same modern principle of flight. was a Moroccan Berber man named (Abbas Ibn Firnas) he was an inventor, scientist, and engineer. he invented the worlds first heavier than air flying the machine, that worked, in the year 800 AD ( around year 830 ) that several hundred years before DaVinci was born. and da Vinci didn't even succeed. Abbas Ibn Firnas, the first man to fly on a heavier-than-air machine and lived to tell the tale. Many are surprised to learn, that this man was the first to fly with a heavier-than-air machine, and staying in flight flying for about ten minutes. That was over a thousand years before the American Wright brothers. Made their first flight that only lasted a few seconds. And they couldn't come close to what Abbas Ibn Firnas Achieved. Ibn Firnas made various contributions to the field of astronomy and engineering. He constructed a device that indicated the movement motions of the planets and stars in the Universe. In addition, Ibn Firnas came up with a procedure to manufacture colorless glass and made magnifying lenses for reading, which were known as reading stones His method of cutting rock crystal enabled Spanish mines to cut quartz, instead of exporting stones. He also designed the al-Maqata, a water clock. He was a Moroccan Berber Moor, born in Cordoba Muslim Spain, and died in year 887. -The first to discover India and China and Southeast Asia was a Moroccan Berber Explorer from Tanger named ( Ibn Battuta ). He discovered and reaches India, East Asia, in the 1330s and 1340s. Ibn Battuta died in 1369 AD. The first one to establish a geographic map of the world. was a Berber man from Morocco, named Muhammed al-Idrisi. Idrissi was born in Ceuta (northern Moroccan coast) then belonging to Morocco ( by the Almoravids). He created the Tabula Rogeriana, one of the most advanced medieval world maps, which was later used by explorers like Christopher Columbus and Vasco Da Gama for their discoveries and voyages. And where still used by many others centuries later. -From discoverers of the American continent, 100 years after Christopher Columbus, the one that first to discover the USA after him was a black Moroccan man, named Mustafa Zemmouri (he was a black Moroccan Senegalese Explorer) from a city called Azemmour. He was our formidable explorer who discovered America, he was the first after Columbus to discover North America America in 1529. and died in the year 1539 in (USA) New Mexico.

Correction: Modern Standard Arabic is not Darija. MSA is the official language that Arab countries, not only Morocco, use in governmental affairs, education, news ... Darija is a dialect which is specific to Morocco. It is used in daily conversation and informal contexts. Darija, as opposed to MSA is based on Amazigh grammar, however its vocabulary inventory adapted words from MSA, Tamazight (a local language used by Amazigh people who are an ethnic group in Morocco), and French. Recently, many English words have started being adapted and added to Darija since English has started to gain ground as a foreign language in favor of French.

That was a great video ! Just one little mistake : Modern Standard Arabic and Darija are not the same thing. Modern Standard Arabic is Arabic as it is spoken in all Arabic-speaking countries (for news, education, official documents) and Darija is the local dialect. Although Darija is widely spoken, it’s not Morocco’s official language.
