10 Style Tips I Wish I Knew Earlier
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
We’ve all made a couple (or a lot) of style faux-pas. From skin-tight jeans to obnoxious graphic tees, I’ve made all of the mistakes you can imagine. In this video I go over 10 style tips that I wish someone had told me when I was younger.

Been lurking about this fashion town for quite a while mate, and that taste of success really distinguishes the real deal from the ones who've faked it all the way until they made it. I think it's people like Tim, Alex Costa, and Marcel from One Dapper Street, who really have it in them to educate your average internet consumer about "Men's style and Fashion". The person we referred to earlier makes their viewers feel like he's doing us a favor by bringing his content to us, which 99% is all about how "hot" he is, and how he could and he will steal your gf. I simply hate disingenuous people. What do you have on them?;

The biggest style tip that I learned from my parents is to keep my clothes clean, ironed and lint-free. My dad had like 3 pairs of pants, 5 shirts, a belt and a pair of shoes to wear for the entire year but he always looked sharp and polished. He usually spent his weekend to iron all the clothes of my entire family: my uniforms, my mom's suits, and his own work attire. He also hated our pet dogs because they shed a lot, lol. Now living alone I'm struggling with both problems: pet hair and free time to take care of my clothes.

Never put your hoodies in the dryer. That's how you get the little fuzzy balls. Air dry them. Pull them out of the wash and hang them on the shower curtain rod. I've had a really nice Nirvana hoodie for over a year and a half and I've kept it MINT by simply not drying it.

Honestly, the only point I had some issue with was graphic tees. I think graphic tees can be an excellent way at pulling off some cool street wear looks while also showing off things you’re interested in (I personally don’t believe in wearing graphic tees of things you have no connection to). There’s definitely a time and place for them however.

Hi im a guy you’ll never see ever in ur life. I used to be lke you and relied on like fashion and like reddit, self improvement etc. It got me through life for the most part but it was pretty hard. I’m writing this cuz i genuinely want to help bro so hopefully u dont judge. My most life changing moment was accepting a form of spirituality, it helped me through a lot of problems. Personally, mine was Christianity but any form of spirituality probably helps. Bless up man. Focusing on like fashion and shit will eventually drain you like it did to me cuz it stops being exciting. BUTTTT, based on my experience, once i had a stable hold on my spirituality, fashion became WAAAAYY more fun, and was a great way for me to be happier as well. Yo wtf i just rambled, but hey, i just wanna help. Wtf this is so weird.

@@Joeyblannn I appreciate the sentiment brother. Fashion is just one of many tools that has helped me become the man I want to be today. I've been lifting weights for 4 years, electronic music has aided me for over a decade, video games and the friends I've made over the years through that community, becoming spiritual through reading/listening to other people/philosophers/podcasts and experiences with psychedelics have helped me grow immensely in my mind, body and soul. It sounds like a hippy thing to say but we are the universe and I have felt it, as weird as that may sound to some. I felt so connected with every atom that hell I went from eating McDonalds and soda 3-6 days a week as a kid to the stereotype chicken/rice/Broc bodybuilding diet to being 99.9% whole foods plant based diet advocate for the last 2 years. Much love to you and everyone on their personal journeys.

I 100 percent agree with your point about buying trendy clothes. It drives me crazy when all fashion KZreadrs say "Never buy trendy clothes. Always stick to the classics/basics". Fashion is all about expressing yourself. In my opinion, trendy fashionable guy always looks better than classic styled guy. Nothing wrong with wearing timeless clothes but it will never make you stand out from the crowd. Classic clothes are too overrated. I love oversized fitted clothes. Wearing oversized fitted clothes makes person from normie to guy from the Paris fashion week.

You can be and look trendy stylish while still having the foundations of being classic or well dressed. The thing to me is some people want all the answers in do exactly this or wear only that. The things IMO is knowing the foundations of good classic style or being well dressed and then being able to add layers of clothing style and trend in or out as needed. As well improvise where you see fit with your own style. It’s your individual style. Everyone has a personal style and that very much includes the person who says they have no style. But being able to think for yourself is much part of your own style and incorporating new things or new type of clothing pieces. That is incorporating it into what or how you wear those clothing pieces. Just don’t be a robot about it all. There is a difference in looking at something purple per se and thinking 🤔 I can rock that with an outfit I have and it be dope in how “l” personally can wear it. That’s very much different to the other person who be like, I had no idea I can wear purple and never try. And that’s it really. Experiment with clothing, new types and find and improve your style on the foundations of classic or good men’s dress wear.

Good video, Tim. It’s a good reminder, especially for people like me who have gotten a good grasp of the basics from r/MFA and are slowly developing our own personal style. Some of the tips are actually things I’ve been worrying about/considering, like it’s ok for different pants to have different fits or to experiment with different pieces and not needing everything to be interchangeable! These tips help to keep my obsession with the hobby in check, and it reminds me not to rush this fashion journey.

I’ve done that graphic tee mistake. I was 2012 and I’d just gotten into college my wardrobe was full of graphic tees. While shopping I’d pretty much only look for the graphics and I never thought about fit, material comfort etc. Now my style has improved dramatically and it’s been years since I’ve even looked at a graphic tee. I’m proud of that.

I disagree with graphic tees. I have a bunch, and they tell a story about me and are good conversation starters. A graphic tee tucked into jeans is a great easy outfit for most days at school/college. Not for every day, but a good daily when you don't want to put too much effort into the outfit. Great tips beside that tho!

Your video about long hair popped into my reccs the other day and I watched it thinking you were a hair stylist or something, pleasantly surprised to see you do fashion too that's my main vice rn.

My channel is mainly focused on fashion, with sometimes other topics related to style like hair or grooming 🙂
you're my favorite Tim, so creative and do everything with a flair! Also, I see the european influence

Great idea James!
When you want to be fashionable in school Bulky heavy ass bag: *hahahaha* Dress codes: *HaHaHaHa* Your bff who doesn't understand your style: *HAHAHAHAHA*
Your style reflects a more minimalist approach. You edit well. I agree that the balance with ones personal style should be "have fun"!!
Great video/advice Tim. I’m trying to venture out and add more shoes to my wardrobe that aren’t sneakers, Timberland boots, or dress shoes for a suit.

I really like your style, and I find your videos really helpful. Big props to your channel! Can you make a video about belts? I’d like to know what‘s your take on when to/not to wear them, and which belt goes with what.

Thank you very much! Glad you're enjoying the content 🙂 Thank you for the suggestion, I will likely make a video about belts in the near future.
Plain shirt is really catchy though for whom doesn't like to get labeled. But somehow fully printed shirt is really cool!
I'm gonna make some graphic tees you'll actually want to wear alot. Soon. Love the content
