For #3 you can just use SUBPAD to retrig the sample. Will save you a pad

I owned a 404A for 2 years now and never made a good beat using only it. Not being able to resample from the pattern sequencer is a bummer. I feel like I shouldn't consider a MK2 before at least getting decent at the SX/A

I wouldn’t hold yourself back. The mk2 is a much more refined unit and you’ll most likely find it easier to get results

Do you think buying SX just for the effects is worth it? I have sp404mk2 and it seems to me that the effects don't sound as good as in older versions of sp. I am also considering buying sp202 and 303 Peace

If it’s for fx alone I’d get a 303. They are straight up butter
