I love the postcard legacy challenge , I’m on gen 3 rn and it’s really fun

thank you for this! i usually get burnt out around gen 4 of classic legacy challenges because i have to do all the storytelling myself, so i think these more structured versions will be great for me

My favorite is the decades challenge! Its long and very rule based but a lot of fun if you like history

The Family Jewels challenge gives me an idea for another challenge! I call it: Pebble to Diamond. Each generation will have their own aesthetic in terms of eye color, clothing color, clothing style, and both the color scheme and decor style of their house. BTW, I HEAVILY suggest that you have every Generation after the starting one keep every previous generation's urns or tombstones. In addition, I HIGHLY suggest going into manage worlds to build every home the generations will need (except the farm, which will have to be built by hand), but set each lot type to general, then set the lot traits to private, and have the setting for filling empty homes be set to off. Once each generation is ready to move into their new home, set the lot type for that home to residential, remove the private lot trait (maybe not for the Sapphire home and Diamond castle). Also, I suggest you play this challenge on long life-span, with 28-day seasons. [ REQUIRED PACKS FOR THIS CHALLENGE: Get to Work, Cottage Living, Vintage Living, Get Famous, Seasons, and the refreshed Spa Day. ] [ OPTIONAL PACKS THAT ARE NOT REQUIRED FOR THIS CHALLENGE: Dining Out, Vampires, and City Living (however I HIGHLY recommend you get them to have a larger variety of options for CAS items, personality traits, and ways of gaining revenue). ] [ Generation: Pebble. Color and aesthetic: Grey or brown cottage living. Eye color: Grey or brown. ] You make two average-looking Sims named John and Jane Pebble, who will live in a cottagecore tiny home, with a beige, grey and brown color scheme. They will work on a farm until they can afford to move to a cheap starter house, where they'll have a single child. The child will be surnamed "Pearl", but the first name can be any common, average first name. [ Generation: Pearl. Color and aesthetic: Grey/white corporate office worker. Eye color: Silver. ] Once the child is grown up and has a spouse (who will take their new last name), the two will work full-time office jobs until they can afford to move to an apartment (or a simple, manufactured shell house with modern, blocky furniture). The house will have one office (for both spouses to share) or two offices. They will work in the managerial branch in the Business career until they reach the rank of senior manager. They will work until they can afford to move to a fancier family home, like Brook Bungalow in Willow Creek. Their child will be given a uniquely spelled common first name, but their surname will be "Amethyst". [ Generation: Amethyst. Color and aesthetic: Purple Preppy. Eye color: Purple. ] Now that the Pearl Parents have died, the Amethysts will now make their living running either a restaurant or a retail store. Their home will be have a purple, light purple, pink, and white color scheme, with flowery prints, and lots of flowers (both in vases and on the lawn. You can also fill the vases yourself with flower-arranging and make some money on the side, too.) They will work until they can afford to have a child, and that child will be given a noble-sounding name, like "Victoria" or "Charles," but their surname will be "Sapphire." [ Generation: Sapphire. Color and aesthetic: Blue classy, elegance (or blue aristocrat, if you'd like a more historic period look). Eye color: Brightest blue. ] Now that the Amethyst parents are dead, the Sapphires can either become celebrity painters or celebrity writers, so they can become famous and familiar with celebrities. Once they can afford it, they can move into either an elegant, modern mansion, or a beautiful, historic mansion, both complete with a butler. Now they'll have one child whom they'll spoil rotten, giving the child the following traits: Snob, Self-Centered, and High-Maintenance. The child will have the first name of any historic monarch, as well as the surname "Diamond". You can even put a royal title such as "King" or "Queen" in front of their first name, as long as they both fit in the first name slot. [ Generation: Diamond. Color and aesthetic: White royalty (if you have cc. If not, then go with formal or the fanciest clothes you can find for every outfit. I also suggest you use the formal wear from the Vampires pack) ] The child will live in their parents' home, gaining fame on their own through either becoming an author (poetic reward trait, allowing you to bring a loved one back to life with the book of life), or becoming an artist, or even an actor. Or your sim could become a politician in the president branch. If you choose to have your sim become famous without becoming a politician, it is suggested that you buy every fame perk in both the Skill and Career Boosting Fame Perks branch, and the Positive Public Image Perks branch. If you become a presidential politician and get the above-suggested fame Perks, you can also write Biographies about your supposedly royal sim's life (those should be written AFTER your sims have made enough money to buy themselves a castle). And even host charity events (either with a charity livestream or a charity benefit party). If the castle is too big for one butler, then (if you have Get Together) create a club where the only allowed activities are cooking, baking, handiness, and cleaning. The club uniforms would be the Butler outfit (if you have Vintage Living). Only allow members who have cooking, baking, and handiness skills at the highest levels. Once the make-shift help have cooked and baked all that your Sim will need for the feast (or some kind of fancy dance party), then have the club members gather away from the kitchen and lock the door. Once your Sim is rich and famous enough, you can have them marry someone. If you'd like, you can plan a large, fancy wedding befitting royalty, with the biggest engagement party beforehand. If you can get that many Sims to become your couple's friends, invite as many as you possibly can! Make it as big (or close as you can get) as the UK Royal Wedding! If you'd like, you can create some households of supposed nobility in manage worlds, then have your couple befriend all of them FAR in advance; in fact, I suggest you make those noble families as soon as the Diamond couple's inside their castle, then lock the royals in their house (with plenty of things to fulfill their needs). Next, turn all aging off, so that they won't die of old age before your nobles can become rich and famous themselves. If you have City Living, then have each noble adult become charity organizers, and have them be famous artists on the side. Now that the nobility have pretty much made themselves into some important people, befriend them and invite them to the wedding. If you don't want nobles at your wedding, then just befriend as many rich Sims as you can (like the Landgraabs), or celebrities (who you can pretend are nobles), or just random townie peasants. Once the Diamonds are officially spouses, I suggest you give both of them something resembling royal terms of address by going into full edit mode, and changing their first names to something like "QC Elizabeth" (short for Queen Consort, for the woman your Diamond is marrying), or "PC Philip" (short for Prince Consort, if your Sim is marrying a man). Edit your own Sim's first name to be either a royal title with a short first name, or use abbreviations to fit a longer name, like "HM Victoria". If you'd like to give your royal couple something resembling royal terms of address, go into full edit mode and change their pronouns to custom pronouns, like "Bob told Her Majesty about the best grilled cheese recipe ever". You can even give the couple's potential children their own royal titles, like "Her Royal Highness, Princess Alice" (or just HRH Alice). MOVING on to fame. As royalty, they wouldn't have time to CONSTANTLY write the same "Royal life" autobiographies, or sell paintings that take HOURS to complete! That is, unless you want them to. If not, then have the Diamonds all complete the "World-famous Celebrity" aspiration, which should reward them with the "Unstoppable Fame" trait, which allows that sim's fame level to never decay. Finally, if you want to finish the challenge by cementing the Diamonds' eternal reign, then have them become vampires, and edit their dark forms accordingly (assuming you don't want to just have them out in public with glowing white eyes, visibly sharp teeth, and visibly pointy ears giving away their secret). Or, you could just have their singular, humanoid forms be discreet with only 2 fangs. Edit: I've rewritten and edited this comment so many times. Also, I forgot you can make Sims immortal with Ambrosia. Edit 2: I also forgot to mention that gourmet cooking at the highest level is also one of the approved activities for the help. Edit 3: I didn't know you couldn't set a club uniform. I guess you'll have to make the members as a separate household and put them in the town. Edit 4: I learned that Ambrosia resets the Sims' age and resurrects ghosts, not make them immortal.
