    Here’s a request for a longer, more detailed video about using the toothpick and the tweezers to pick the lock. (In particular, a video where the pictures aren’t covered up by the ads for other videos.)

    Back in the day the toothpick was made of something stiffer and was therefore more useful. Somebody at Victorinox decided to go with a cheaper (I assume) plastic that is so flexible I find that the toothpick is now nearly useless. Does anyone know of a better reason that the toothpick is now so flexible? If so, please tell.

    It may have been justified, besides the likely cost savings, by the fact that a lot of people who notice and care are people who may also own one of those: nested, screw in, metal keychain toothpicks. And, at that point, may appreciate the softer version for delicate tasks, as they already have a rigid variation in their EDC. Edit: I agree, by the way.

    I started carrying alcohol pads because I needed to disinfect the knives before and after cutting foods. Also, for a long time, I would wonder why anyone would use the toothpick from the knife? So I tried it and discovered that it is one of the best; sleek and comfortable.

  • @2cjappy
    @2cjappy6 ай бұрын

    The key to using the knife is your preception that everything they put there has multiple purpose. So you look st them with your creative imagination. You could do that with every tools we come across but it was not markeyed that way so we limit our imagination.

    You could *start* by quitting the nail-biting - disgusting and childish habit. Some were quite resourceful, especially when actual toothpicks are in most every restaurant/diner/café anyway and for home you got floss. Or for my preference, floss sticks - all-in-one toothpick and piece of floss strung between 2 anchor points to easily reach your whole mouth without having to jam 2 fingers slide down parallel to your molar gum line. I’ve also seen them called ‘floss harps’ for the resemblance that single piece of floss has for a string musical instrument, albeit unitonal in nature and not particularly recognisable.
