Oooo sooky. Back in the day I was an Edinburgh police officer. My beat included Greyfriars kirk yard that I regularly patrolled on the night shift. About a mile from there is Mary Kings Close where Abandoned Annie bides. I was fortunate enough to be there when the close was discovered and opened for the first time. Despite all that the scariest thing i've encountered has to be the pronunciation of scottish names and places in that video 😂😂

I lived in Roseburn, and worked as a Plumbing and heating engineer for 15 years in the city. I was called to a job in an unoccupied house next to Kingsknowe golf course. The estate agent looking after the house had reported water leaking through kitchen ceiling. I picked up the keys at the estate agents in Hanover street, who instructed me to investigate leak, and to turn the water off and drain the Plumbing and heating system, as the owner was in a nursing home and unlikely to return. On entering the quite large property, I found water marks on kitchen ceiling, so checked upstairs and found, as expected the bathroom located above the Kitchen. There was no obvious cause of leakage, although there were water marks on the floor tiles in front of the wash hand basin. This was not unusual, so I returned downstairs to turn the water off and drain system as instructed. On locating the main water stop valve and beginning to turn the water off, I heard an unspecified loud noise. I stopped what I was doing to investigate. On entering hallway I recognised what sounded like a burst pipe upstairs, so followed the sound to the bathroom, where I found the cold water tap on basin was open full bore. The tap was supplied direct from the mains, so was high pressure and I was lucky to reach it in time before it flooded the basin and started spilling over. Perplexed I returned downstairs to shut off water supply and drain heating, but while doing so felt an overwhelming presence behind me. I was scared to turn around, but did so anyway and was relieved to be alone. I turned water off and made sure heating was switched off before looking for heating drain point which I found outside. I opened drain valve and smoked a cigarette, while waiting on heating draining, It was around 2pm on a sunny Tuesday afternoon yet I was relieved to be outside, while trying to logically think about what had just happened. The water stopped flowing so all that remained was for me to enter each room to open air valves on radiators to fully expel water, and pull the fuse on heating. Except on re-entering property through kitchen back door, there was a loud groaning noise, which was the heating pump running without water, the programmers lights were on and so was the central heating, without water! I quickly pulled the fuse, locked up and fled that house. That happened in 1994, and to this day I dont know what to make of it other than sometimes inexplicable things really do happen.

Thank you so much for this ❤️❤️ Scotland is a very spiritual country, steeped in myths and legends. In my town Paisley, there was a witch trial and mass burning of 7 people(the last burning in Scotland). One of the 'witches' shouted out a curse on the town whist burning. Their ashes were scattered at a crossroads nearby and a horseshoe was placed on top to stop their spirits from escaping and wreaking havoc on the town. Twice in my lifetime the horseshoe has been stolen or worn away to nothing and at those times, Paisley suffered a decline in business and industry, causing very high unemployment, illness and poverty, which seemed to stop declining when the horseshoe was replaced. A few years ago, the witches were pardoned and a brand new brass horseshoe and plaque reading 'Pain Inflicted, Suffering Endured, Injustice Done' was placed at the crossroads xxx Oh, and kids from the Gorbals.... they make the Avengers look like the Teletubbies 🤣🤣🤣

The story of 'abandoned Annie' in Mary Kings Close in Edinburgh - I've been there on a tour, it was near Christmas time and it was a tour then a pub crawl with my work, but most people were already drunk, going 'oooooh' in the dark, and touching your hair and stuff trying to creep you out 😂 I would love to go back again and do the tour seriously, really get into the atmosphere of the place. Thanks for this video, I'm Scottish and I hadn't heard of most of these. Thanks for the love as well - right back at you 😁💛✌🏻 Edit - there's kind of a recent urban legend from a local town, the catman of Greenock, he was a real guy, there are videos on KZread of him, he lived in an abandoned place, he crawled on his belly, never spoke, and was filmed eating a rat, there are a few different stories of who he could have been, this was in the 90's, and no one knows what happened to him.

I came to that conclusion too. Apparently the original ghillie suits were worn by Scottish gamekeepers and poachers before it became standard for snipers. I got my young son one for his birthday once, he walked around the local playground wearing it, scared the other kids half to death and a couple of dogs went mental due to the presence of a walking bush. 😂

There's an old stone bridge in Stirling that dogs can't help throwing themselves off it (100+feet drop) and if they're lucky enough to survive, they'll go back up and throw themselves off it again. They dont actually talk that much about "Bluidy Mackenzie" & why his burial place is so spooky. Basically Mackenzie was in charge of the legal process in Scotland & when a large band of Scots called the Covenanters took arms against the King it was he who took charge of the prisoners. one of the major steps he took was the creation of what has been described as Europes first concentration camp in a small peice of land in greyfriars kirkyard. When Mackenzie died he was then entombed less than 100 meters from where hundreds of prisoners perished due to Bluidy Mackenzie's brutality & maltreatment
