It's the conditioning agents in cuticle removers that cause lifting as the add slip to the nails. Blue Cross has lanolin, it's sheep wool grease. If it prevents sheep's wool from felting in nature, just imagine what it's doing to the adhesion of your nail enhancement. Ingredients you want to avoid... Lanolin, silicones/icones/siloxanes, waxes, cetyl/ceteryl alcohol, tocopherol acetate...

Totally make sense! It’s really frustrating when people keep getting told to use it and then they can’t figure out why their nail enhancements are lifting.

Such a great video!! Should the dip layer be dry before you do another layer? I place my finger in the powder for 10-15 seconds each-is that an issue? It's those little details that are so confusing and unknown for me 😅

Thank you so much!!! Yep your dip layer should be dry before you do another layer! If you can dust off excess powder with a stiff nail brush and it doesn’t mess up the layer- it’s dry! Do you mean you dip into the powder or lay your nail on the powder?

I dip in at a 45° angle but I have been letting it sit in the powder for a few seconds and then do the next layer and I've noticed the layer will kind of slip around when I brush the extra off. Your video was so helpful, lots of great tips I haven't seen others bring up! I definitely think I've been doing my layers too think but will absolutely make sure they're dry between layers from now on ❤️ I've only dipped a few times but I'm hoping to add strength to my nails now that I finally stopped biting them 😬

Hi I just wanted to recap to make sure I heard you correct when your using gel for the very last part of the dipping powder step you use the gel basecoat then you use the gel topcoat you use both?

So on #6...can you use primer before you apply the builder gel, then continue with your dip? I just bought YN protein bond because either you or Marla said it was important to add.

Hi Amanda!!! I use primer before gels only. When I use dip liquids to dip (over builder gel), my builder gel has been cured, filed and shaped. Then I wipe it off with alcohol, apply a layer of dip liquid base, let it dry. Then dip like normal. Is that what you meant?!

What are you supposed to do to get rid of cuticles in place of cuticle remover? I find that if I don’t mess with the cuticles at all, I still get lifting. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi! I use an efile for all my cuticle prep. A dry cuticle prep makes most people’s manis last so much longer! I’ll link a video showing how you can use an efile for cuticle prep! Hi Kateena!! I use either an actual dehydrator or just 91% (and above) isopropyl alcohol.

Hi! That could be a number of things. Not capping, the nail prep you do before application, how many layers, quality of the dip liquids. What’s your nail prep?

so after activating no need to wash hands ? just use alchohol and a lint free wipes and then apply the top coat?

Definitely don’t wash your hands- just wipe with alcohol on a lint free wipe or paper towel! For the top coating- you need to follow the insurrections of the dip liquids you’re using. So the ones I used in this video- you have to activate again before using the top coat.

So dont use primer at all? Or just don't use a primer for gel?

Hi Jamie! You shouldn’t use any primer that’s for gel. Most are for gels that I’ve seen! I just dehydrated (besides the rest of my nail prep) when I dipped directly on my natural nails.

Mine pop off after a week. I am using gel liquids with my dip powders. I am using the Young Nails Bond. Is this ok to use? I just realized it says it's for "gel polish".

Oh no that’s frustrating!! Yes you do need that bond since you’re using gel base to dip. Do you do a layer of gel base and cure it alone before adding dip powder to the next layer?

@@PurplePasion your welcome!! It could be your prep that’s causing lift offs or a number of other things. If you’re using liquid cuticle remover- that causes most people lifting! So I have builder gel down on my natural nails- which is instead of 2-3 thin layers of clear dip powder as a base. Then I do 2 dips of the color dip, then finish with clear dip powder!
