My dad wouldn't understand me at 15-16 years old and still watching Batman and X-Men cartoons because it was research for me wanting to make it into drawing comic books, this was also at the same time The Simpsons were a huge phenomenon and he didn't get it....Oh yeah shout out to the Hero At Large reference long live Captain Avenger!!!!

My dad liked me having GI Joe because he grew up with them too albeit the big ones. He was fascinated with Transformers the same as everyone else back then. And yeah John Wayne is the one guy you're not allowed to talk crap about no matter how much you think he sucked.

My dad loves me and is proud of me. Probably because we'd hang out and have fun if we were the same age. But also because we hang out and have fun even though we're almost 40 years apart. He wasn't the best dad. But he helped inspire my curiosity and imagination. Props, dad.

This was great. Lmao. Also, the robot or R.O.B. for the NES always moved really slow when it was its turn to play to select a button on Gyromite, that by the time you get to move your character, your character would sometimes get crushed by one of the pillars or get defeated by a random enemy. My dad would be embarassed/disappointed by how slow the thing moved, but I never had one, only saw videos of it. Funny thing is, it’s also a playable character in Super Smash Bros. and moves a lot faster than its toy counterpart.

This one opened up some wounds for me. I had a dad who really wanted me in sports. I quit baseball, I quit soccer, I quit basketball and I decided to BMX freestyle. I could just sense his disappointment after that through the end of his life as that freestyling evolved into equal areas of letting him down for the next 3 decades. Not getting married and having kids so I could experience the same disappointment was the icing on the cake.
