Guadeloupe, a French overseas region, is an island group in the southern Caribbean Sea. Resembling a butterfly, its 2 largest islands are separated by the Salée River. Hilly Grande-Terre Island has long beaches and sugarcane fields. On Basse-Terre Island, Parc National de la Guadeloupe encompasses Carbet Falls and the volcano La Grande Soufrière. Smaller islands include Marie-Galante and La Désirade.

Love trying the local foods! 😋. Some of the most famous traditional Guadeloupean dishes include: accras, bokits, blood sausage, “colombo” curry; “dombrés", crab soup, callaloo soup, blaff (court-bouillon), bébélé (tripe soup), cod chiquetaille, avocado feroce, vegetable gratins, congo soup, conch fricassée and grilled lobster. 🦞

Weather & Active Volcano: Hi, thank you for a great video, most videos don't get to the point, yours is perfect! You have given me our entire itinerary if we decide to go. I have read mixed info about the weather in End December/Beginning of January. Perhaps there is a rainy side as other islands have, what are your thoughts. And, is VOG an issue due to the active volcano? Lastly, mixed reviews of water temperature in the winter. Thank you for your time
Oh man this island looks so beautiful! It is my dream to live on a beautiful tropical island like this one some day hopefully very soon. The only island I've been to is Puerto Rico, it is very beautiful but I think I'd like something a bit less populated. Island people just seem to live on a different pace than we do here in the mainland USA, especially the Northeast...
