Left The US 3 years ago, tried the Caribbean and thailand for 2 years now...the standard of living is amazing however the language barrier and cultural differences make it a bit challenging. Thinking about the Phillppines....

@@gregl5933 you can pay about 700 USD to a private middle agent for a 1 year retirement visa, who has connections for approval at immigration. No bank deposit or health insurance required.

I been looking world wide for an - "ideal retirement destination" - the past couple of years from the US - and I think I found it not too far from where you filmed this video ! --- Many US expats and a few foreigner expats have made numerous videos for me to consume. 🤗 (( Your sarcasm is actually appreciated by me - not sure about others ? )) My criteria for the 'ideal' place was - English a must - warm weather - low cost of living - safe - friendly people - a focus on 'comfortable' - and - like minded expats if possible. 🤔 > That was a 'difficult' list to satisfy on planet earth !!! --- But....... ❤🙏👍 for me - it sure 'appears' the Tagaytay area meets my criteria - only an hour or so from the Manila Airport.

Most expats are losers, they drink too much or they are just there for young girls,,,,But to be honest, 99% of the men just go for sex with young girls. I lived in cebu city for 7 years, i saw it on a daily basis. I have maybe 1 expat friend, the others were just pervs.

Amen! That's why I love the proximity of everything, the restaurants, the malls, the wet market, to people, et cetera. Everything is in close proximity you do not have to drive long hours just to get to a mall. Huge Mall Culture is insanely insane. Family, friends, lovers and haters go to the malls. Awesome country :-)

The only missing is a few residential skyscrapers in front of powdery beach facing the sunsets. I mention this because retirees are 60s and up mostly. They cannot go for adventures anymore so having the adventure of oceanfront residency is what many are looking for. I understand it is a different take from someone who is a U60 vlogger as you where walking long distances on a daily basis is nothing. But for 60 and up, it's not realistic. Yes there could a 1x a week 2-mile walk for exercise but for the remaining 6 days of the week, a 60+ would like to get to the beach for no less than 200 steps total back and forth.

I like his style, he's always positive. I'm tired or watching the other vloggers that just complain. They have an option to leave and go somewhere else, if life is so bad and they complain everyday they should leave not release videos about someone else's country and talk bad about it.

Well I live in San Diego, California. I could move to Kansas state or some where else and pay 1/3 of the rent there, but you kind of get what you pay for in some way. I wouldn't feel at home any where else, so it all matters what home is worth to you. Living like a king in the Philippines would not motivate me to stay there, but for some people it is fine (although it is a fine vacation spot). I am also 43 years old and been to different places around the world and many USA states, but there is nothing like home where my family is at. If I had no family and had no kids here ans single, it might be a different story. Different strokes.

If you dont know yet, this country is the land of gold/Ophir. Foreign invaders have been mining this country since time immemorial but remains to be the top two in the untouched gold reserve. Golds used to be right on the surface of the ground and the beaches and ancient people here used to adorn themselves with golds all over, even the lowest class of people wear golds in their person during that time. This is the land of creation. The home for the largest marine biodiversity ecosystem in the whole earth with no close second, a clue to identifying the land of creation. You are on a sacred land.

PH is heaven on earth for rich Filipinos only & not for foreigners to settle foreigners in PH can't own properties full business ownership have very limited rights & many are deported foreigners can be naturalized PH citizens if born & raised in PH like the prominent Spanish Ayala family which is not your case Brian you aggrandize PH so much don't get confused the whole USA is not L.A. San Francisco & NYC Americans in US rural areas are also friendly & accomodating just like Filipinos
