There’s a time that CM Punk was on commentary and told Michael Cole “ That’s why I’m the wrestler and you’re the announcer”. Seconds later Michael says “ you’re not a wrestler, you’re a WWE superstar!” It felt like Vince told him to say that.

I remember writing my university research paper in business school about the WWE and them getting away with classifying wrestlers as "independent contractors" despite very obviously legally matching (and over extending) the definition of an employee. @ENT Broadcast Corporation I'm genuinely confused as to why my 2+ year comment is now receiving hits? I don't keep up with the WWE and haven't in half a decade. As for "knowing", this was common knowledge for hardcore fans from the 90's/early 00's. I'm not claiming to "know" anything that was not readily available to everyone else through testimonies, interviews and paper trails of literally dozens (probably close to hundreds now) of ex employees, maybe you just didn't care enough to look?

I have rewatched the APA wrecking Public Enemy multiple times. The best part is when Farooq uses his finisher the Dominator. NO ONE (outside of jobbers and those being punished) ever took the dominator. It lands you on the softest part of your stomach. There is no way to take it that doesn't hurt. Watch any match where it is successful and you will see Farooq's opponent writhing on the ground in agony. And the thing is Ron Simmons is so damn strong (at the time he was in his prime) he could just straight up lift people, even if they sandbagged, doesn't matter, if Farooq wants your body in the air you are going in the air. At the very end of the "match" Farooq picks up Public Enemy idiot number 1 (or was it number 2?) And hit the Dominator. That poor bastard pounded his foot against the mat in pain for the rest of the time the camera was on him. You know you're getting pushed DOWN the card when you eat a Dominator.

Public Enemy was in WWF for about a month after that Acolytes beatdown. I particularly remember an episode of _Shotgun_ with a four-way tag match between Too Much, DOA, the Hardy Boyz and Public Enemy. None of the other team would tag in PE until the end where Rocco tagged himself in, whereupon the other teams all ganged up on PE and they *all* pinned both of them. Before an during the match even the announcers were like "nobody in the locker room likes them." Nobody talks about that one though, maybe because it was on _Shotgun._
