I'm from England i had my first game of Pool at 34 yo, I have now live in Buriram, Thailand and 76 yo old, i can still give most players a run for there money. I tell all the young players I help with the game to watch Efren, look and learn.

Pool is one of the few sports where age doesn't diminish skill level too much. After playing 9-ball for 4 years in college (I thought I was pretty good)--I challenged my 72-year-old dad to play. I knew he had played in his 20s in Taiwan, and that he was pretty good, but he literally hadn't played regularly in 40 years. He was a pastor by then. The last time he touched a pool stick was maybe 15 years before I challenged him, at my uncle's house. I went first, broke, and sank one of the solids. Just based on the break, he looked at me and said, "Son, you're going to lose." Like observing the sky was blue. I was like "Okay, old man. Game on!" Then I lost the next 10 games in a row and found out he played snooker every day for like 4 years straight in Taiwan, to the point where he had to re-do his senior year of college >. The amazing thing wasn't that he was that much better than me at pool, it was that his muscle memory for the game had BARELY diminished after 4 decades. All his shots looked so easy and effortless.

When the eyesight isn't clear anymore because of old age then it will definitely affect the skill level of a pool player.

Efren Reyes is my favorite pool player. He makes the impossible look easy.

I live about an hour from the derby city classic, met him and watched him play many times. Super nice guy
