I believe he was talking about mass production. Of course you still have craftsman who do these things by hand. But you also have massive construction projects take place (either residential or commercial) that the contractor due to time constraints and in some cases budget constraints, have to find ways to cut corners. Not for the sake of being lazy, but for the conservation of time so that the project can meet it's initial deadline and not have to be re-bid. Now I'm not saying any of this is a good thing, just stating that it's not necessarily untrue or lazy that they will sometimes use construction techniques like was shown here.

I was thinking the same. Only sometimes is it laid out by machines. People actually do use ages stacking bricks on the street. I live in Denmark and also work with construcion.

Brick laying machines are still partially done by hand, workers just don't have to get on their knees to lay them.

that's not accurate at all, they say it's being cleaned in Canada and that is exactly what they are doing. we cleaned the machines every single night at about 11pm when barely anyone orders ice cream.

The pavement part (bricking machine etc) is very expensive and not done in the USA. Here in the American East if its bricks its done by hand (have seen it done many times). The scoring is not done the way shown in cement except on a corporate scale, its usually done with a framework (wood) put in place BEFORE the cement is poured. The Scoring is to assist with water flow in areas that get a lot of rain to flow it towards the curb and drain ways. The frameworks are a standard Mason's tool.

I've got to admit, I've been using that Earphone trick around 1:45 for over a decade, back when they didn't make various custom sizes to make for a better, more comfortable fit like today. I had flipped them over my ears like in the vid and ever since never do it differently. Works great when you need to take them out to hear something else as well because they just dangle in the crevice of that top ridge on your ears, as long as you don't plan on going upside down anytime soon you're safe :)

Tom Wolfe I use a diswasher alot. got a really good advanced one for £5 as a replacement for our old one just because the old one had a single broken button that wasn't necessary. nothing wrong with the new one and it was a huge upgrade. no hagling or anything. they just gave it to us.
