The only epl to actually make a bid was Spurs...which was rejected. Man Utd signed Bruno almost on deadline day in January after Man Utd had an injury crisis. So it did seem more panicky than planned.

Casemiro deal was finalised back in July. He was never a panic buy. Yes they tried to get De Jong but Casemiro was a sure shot buy.

Nope!! Casemiro deal was finalized on August 22, 2022 UK time!! It was only 9 days from the closing time!! And it was definitely a panic buy because FDJ refused to join Man Utd. If FDJ joined Man Utd then they wouldn't have signed Casemiro since they only have the money to sign one of them and NOT BOTH OF THEM!!
